«Rapt would want to know all the controls required to….Make Ship Go.

He'd also want to know where the button to jettison Nico would be.

What hazards or other locale information in the area where the Juber will be, and how they would affect ship movement

The cure for how to make the Juber not go insane

Other things I can't think of now

Where's the manual for the standard manoeuvers and such.

«All right, getting started.»

Gladiator walks everyone out onto the bridge, and the team takes their positions. All the monitors read normal.

Gladiator says, "You all have had terrific training in this last week, and we will be monitoring your progress from down below. If you have any problems, signal me immediately on your comm links. But, we are not expecting any issues." Gladiator nods to Nic, "Take her our, Captain!"

The BEST part was, she was ordering Rapt around.

Rapt doesn't do anything.

Just a short amount of time, enough to show he's only doing it because he wants to, not immedietly following an order, then turns the ship onto the course.

Mike ducks his head and starts touching the screen frantically.

Post by BornIn1142 on May 21, 2007, 11:24am

"Perhaps an error in the mapping system?"

Captain Nicolette was ready to believe Michael had screwed up, but she had to look at other options.

Re: X-Patriots #10 - In Juber We Trust
Post by Rapt "Roc"/Fragment/Fraternity on May 21, 2007, 11:26am

Rapt reviews the course, to see if they did drift somehow, not paying attention to Nicolette, bringing the ship to a full stop, outside of the planet's pull of gravity.

Re: X-Patriots #10 - In Juber We Trust
Post by watcher on May 21, 2007, 11:26am

Mike says, "Maybe. But, here's the problem."

Mike brings it up on the front monitor for everyone to see. Split screen on where they should be and where they actually are. Nic noticed immediately that the ship is very close to the Kree Border, which was a few lightyears from where they started, "The speed we've been traveling, even if we were pointed in the wrong direction, it should have taken us like 12 hours to be this close to the Kree border….not fifteen minutes…"

Nicolette raised an eyebrow.
"Wildfire, run a full diagnostic of the… well, all relevant systems of the ship. It looks like now is the time to bring those scanners to bear, as well. Scan the surroundings, keeping anomalies in mind. Nothing like that is supposed to be here…"

Mike sighes, "If we did, someone didn't bother putting it on the charts! You'd think someone would put up a warning! That is just irresponsible!"

Re: X-Patriots #10 - In Juber We Trust
Post by watcher on May 21, 2007, 11:33am

"Osmosis, where is this coming from?"

Re: X-Patriots #10 - In Juber We Trust
Post by Marisol Morales on May 21, 2007, 11:34am

I do as Nicolette asked, running a diagnostic and checking for any and all abnormalities. I also scan over the ship's most recent loggings, just to be sure.

Re: X-Patriots #10 - In Juber We Trust
Post by Nadia "Osmosis Lass" Johansson on May 21, 2007, 11:35am

"Yes, this is the Juber. Who am I speaking to?"

I check to see if there's an option to bring whoever it is up on the view screen.

Re: X-Patriots #10 - In Juber We Trust
Post by watcher on May 21, 2007, 11:36am

Wildfire does notice some strange "gaps" in the computer function seem to have been occurring in the last few days. Some reports of strange things happening on the ship, but no one seems to have taken them all that seriously. Doors opening or closing on their own, food processors spitting out food at random intervals, things like that.

Re: X-Patriots #10 - In Juber We Trust
Post by watcher on May 21, 2007, 11:39am

Nadia brings the communication up to the screen. The transmission is coming from another Shi'ar ship, the Ku'Ma which is not that far away. It is hard to pin point exactly where. It is possible over the Kree border line.

"Juber, thank the Empress you're here!! We've taken on some heavy damage. We need a tow out of here…Life support is barely holding, but the rest of our systems are pretty much shut down." The Ku'Ma Captain keeps glancing off to the side as if listening to someone.

Re: X-Patriots #10 - In Juber We Trust
Post by Marisol Morales on May 21, 2007, 11:40am

"This ship seems to be malfunctioning slightly - nothing major, but odd malfunctions, and all recently." I turn to Nicolette. "I'll try and hone in on the disturbance."

And I do that, checking through some of the more delicate systems, trying to see if I can find the source.

Re: X-Patriots #10 - In Juber We Trust
Post by Rapt "Roc"/Fragment/Fraternity on May 21, 2007, 11:41am

Rapt continues to try to bring up the logs to determine if they started this far out, or if they travelled there while he was piloting.

Re: X-Patriots #10 - In Juber We Trust
Post by BornIn1142 on May 21, 2007, 11:42am

Nicolette studied the captain for a moment. She just had to be suspicious…

"We're moving to assist you, Captain. But be advised, we're currently in the middle of a training exercise so the ship is under our temporary control. What did this to you?"

«Is crossing the border bad?»

Re: X-Patriots #10 - In Juber We Trust
Post by watcher on May 21, 2007, 11:43am

[[Wildfire finds a logged note from one of the technicians about the glitches, "The computer is in serious need of updates. Juber scheduled for repairs and rehauling at end of week. Reccomendation - It can wait until then." The report doesn't seem to have been properly filed, so it is doubtful anyone higher up in the crew even saw it. ]]

Re: X-Patriots #10 - In Juber We Trust
Post by watcher on May 21, 2007, 11:46am

Osmosis Lass is relieved to notice that the signal is coming from the Shi'ar side of the border. It is close, but definitely on the "no chance of pissing off Deathbird" side.

Re: X-Patriots #10 - In Juber We Trust
Post by watcher on May 21, 2007, 11:49am

Wildfire brings up the help button, and finds that the updates they need are definitely things that need to be done at a starbase. Apparently, it was some damage caused by the Phalanx, but the technician in charge seemed to slack off on his job. This ship shouldn't even be "on the road."

Re: X-Patriots #10 - In Juber We Trust

Wildfire finds out that an auxilary panel blew in the computer core when Rapt brought the ship to power. Fried some fuses, locking down the doors to the crew quarters. The ship seems like it will still be able to manuever and fight, and the damage seems like it is self contained.

Rapt angles the Juber to go up and over the other ships diagonally, hoping their firing arcs were more horizontal than vertical, and engages the engines for as quick a burst as they'd offer.

Rapt continues the arc over them, attempting to flip the ship when they are on the same 'plane' as the other ships, so they face the other ships engines (albeit upside down, compared to the other ships). Cause, you know…Engines make good targets.

I scan for the ships weapon systems and engines. Then fire all available cannons at targets.

First priority Weapons, second engines.

Curt's shots rain down hell on the ships. The ships weapon's are decimated easily, but their engines seem made of sterner stuff. The ships immediately begin to beat a hasty retreat.

Curt's panel starts screaming of a security breach. Someone teleported onto the ship. Several someones.

((IF Gladiator was off the bridge, and thus Nico is gone too))

"Arrogant bitch."

«What can I say, I took a gambit…»

"Someone on board this ship sent out sensitive information about the Imperium to unknown targets."

Quick and to the point.

Gladiator is already moving towards the bridge, "What kind of information?"

And then I go over to check on the nav panel and the two guys sitting at it.

Nicolette tried to keep up.

Nadia and Wildfire notice that Mike's trainer is actually slumped over in his seat snoring, and Mike is staring pretty intently at the panel.

Mike turns to Wildfire and Nadia. A grin breaks out across his face, "About time you got here. I was actually starting to think I was going to get away with this…Oh well. Mission accomplished anyway."

Mike shakes his head, "That would be telling." Mike stands up on his chair, and flexes his hands slightly.

Nic and Gladiator enter the bridge at that moment.

«The early parts of the mission had the ship trying to do a rescue mission, which went bad when the ship started acting up. Everyone was killed!!! Turns out it was a "no win" training scenario designed to see how we dealt with impossible odds.

And now we get to put that lesson into effect ;) Someone was sending navigational data off the ship. After a franctic and crazed investigation taking them all over the place, MIke got bored of waiting for them to look at the nav panel and revealed that "It was me, Austen!! It was me, all along!" Mike had been Brood'd!»
