[[An explosion hits the rock Nic is hiding behind, causing her ears to ring. She peaks out and sees that the Shi'ar soldiers were regrouping and moving in for another barrage. She wasn't quite sure what happened. The team had been assigned to investigate a supposedly deserted Shi'ar moon where a distress call had come from a crashed Shi'ar Troop Transport.
When they had arrived on the planet, the Shi'ar troops had started shooting at the X-Pats immediately. It shouldn't have been much of an issue…until the X-Pats realized that their powers didn't seem to be working.

A shameful stab of fear went through Nicolette's heart. Without her powers, a grenade like that could kill her, or even worse, maim and disfigure her.
She didn't let that stop her from picking it up and throwing it away from the fight as quick as her human speed allowed her to. She didn't want the opposition to be hit either.

Nicolette grimaced slightly, but didn't move for her rifle. That would have been stupid. She wondered what the problem was. Mind-control? Illusions? Misinformation? It didn't matter, they had to be disabled all the same. Even without her powers, Nicolette was able and skilled, and much more trained than the average person. She could manage.
"Just refresh my memory, what have we done?"
It was mostly a distraction, they obviously weren't listening to reason. She grabbed some rocks the explosions had created and slipped out of her cover for a split second to throw them at the soldiers' heads.

Of course, the gun was pretty useless if the stun setting didn't work… Meanwhile, there was nothing protecting them. Her gaze fell back on the downed soldier.
"Joe, take off his armor and see if it fits you."
A moment later, that became irrelevant. She was already futilely trying to pull Joe down when she noticed the lack of… effect. She chose not to question it, jumped into the crowd and slammed the butt of the rifle into a soldier's chin while sending a kick towards another.

Rapt looks regretfully at the guard trying to stab Nicolette as he is hit. He was rooting for him. Rapt moves to get the guards knife, in order to have a somewhat useful weapon.

"ANOTHER SHI'AR!" Mike leaps out from a rock, his face bloodied and tries to take down Kee'an. Mike had been knocked out in the initial barrage, but he had gotten up just in time to see another Shi'ar teleport into the scene…it wasn't one of his crewmates, so he must be with them.

The recording skips slightly, and a small troop of Shi'ar come out of the base, and immediately open fire on the survivors. They manage to rally them off, and the "Shi'ar" that are killed end up being Skrulls. The real Shi'ar regrouped, and were preparing for an attack on the base when we arrived…powerless. ]]

About two minutes later, our powers have been restored. Skrulls start piling up hog tied and barely conscious outside the base. Ten minutes later, Imp Man walks out and takes a bow, "APPLAUSE PLEASE!"
