Re: Training Mission 4 - Fear Factor
Post by K'lar on Feb 13, 2007, 2:19pm

Emma Frost walks into the training room, "Good morning, children." She says with an nasty smile, "Roxeanne…so nice to see you again. I am so glad the mansion has a revolving door policy."

Emma looks around at all of the students, "Now, I had something in mind for today's mission. Too many of you carry on so casually. You are not even afraid of dying because you just think you will come back." Emma glares at them coldly, "But, that is not always the case. Just ask the original Hellions…oh wait, you can't."

Emma turns her back to the group for a moment taking a long breath before turning and continuing, "Unfortunately, Xavier insists on certain standards as long as I teach here, so this mission is much more toned than I would like it to be. That is probably a good thing, as I am not sure you would be able to handle things MY WAY…"

Emma stands at a corner, "Today's mission will be about facing fear, and channeling it into something useful."

Chi bursts in, "Am I late?"

Emma sighes, "The class clown…wonderful. Get in line, before I turn your mind into a blank slate."

Chi falls in, standing behind his teammates, as if afraid of Frost.

Re: Training Mission 4 - Fear Factor
Post by Joseph "Warhead" Olson on Feb 13, 2007, 2:21pm

Joe, true to form, spends the entire time that Miss Frost is speaking blushing and looking at the floor. He barely even notices the new (to him, anyway) girl.

Marisol tried not to look nervous. She wasn't very good with fears.

Re: Training Mission 4 - Fear Factor

I rolled my eyes.

"So how long's the intimidation routine going to last for?"

Re: Training Mission 4 - Fear Factor
Post by Amelia "Heaven" Chow on Feb 13, 2007, 2:22pm

I'm not frightened of dying,
Any time will do, I don't mind.
Why should I be frightened of dying?
There's no reason for it.

I can't help but think of that song. This is my first time meeting Ms. Frost, and, hopefully, it won't be for long. I can understand why she didn't help with the Farm fall-out now, though.

Re: Training Mission 4 - Fear Factor
Post by Thomas "The Tank" Ingine on Feb 13, 2007, 2:23pm

Adam can't focus on Ms. Frost, as he's too busy surveying everything and anything else in the room. He doesn't hear a word.

Re: Training Mission 4 - Fear Factor
Post by K'lar on Feb 13, 2007, 2:29pm

Emma Frost glances at Sephula amused, "Oh yes, the ever brave Apath…your little act does not impress any one. If you are even half as strong or powerful as you think you are, why do you even bother showing up for these training sessions?"

Emma cuts Seph off before he speaks, "It doesn't matter. We have more important things to do than all play mother therapist for you. After the session, if you want us to sit around and sing Kumbaya, I'm sure the Danger Room can put something together for you. "

Emma storms out of the Danger Room…the others look at each. Mike is somewhat uncomfortable. Frost always does that to him.

Joe looks around furtively, then whispers "I don't like her very much…"

"Do not call me Apath," I said to her before she walked out.

Re: Training Mission 4 - Fear Factor

Adam snaps out of his funk.

"Huh?"

He pokes Joe, who is sitting next to him.

"What'd she say? What's our mission? I wasn't listening."

Re: Training Mission 4 - Fear Factor
Post by Risk on Feb 13, 2007, 2:32pm

Post by Joseph "Warhead" Olson on Feb 13, 2007, 2:32pm

"We're posed to turn fear into somethin' useful, I guess. But I already do that…"

Joe looks at Roxie. "Hi, I don't think we ever met. My name's Joe, Joe Olson." He extends his hand.

Re: Training Mission 4 - Fear Factor
Post by Squirrel Girl on Feb 13, 2007, 2:32pm

I start to say something - but I keep quiet. After Sephula's gift, I was actually in sort of a good mood, and I don't want to ruin it by getting into a fight with Ms. Frost.

Re: Training Mission 4 - Fear Factor
Post by K'lar on Feb 13, 2007, 2:38pm

«Quick little note: as is typical with Training missions, the whole point is to do something that couldn't really happen in the game. Basically, with telepathy and using the Danger Room, everyone's fear levels are going to be increased to very high levels. I know that it is not possible with some of your powers or personalities, but that is why this is a training mission, and not an actual mission. Just Role play it.»

The room starts to shift. The team finds themselves in the entryway of what seems to be an old mansion. Upon further inspection, it seems to be the X-Mansion, just much older and worn out. There are no further instructions coming.

[[All right, here is how it is going to play. Fear level will be on a scale of 1-10…with 1 being no outside influence, and 10 being freaked out beyond all recognition. Right now, it is set to 1]]

«*sigh*. I should have used Kelly. Fear would be more in character. This start reminds be of that X-men Apocalypse GBA game.»

"And what the hell is this supposed to be?" I asked no-one imparticular, clearly bored.

Joe walks/stands close to Nephy, a little creeped out by the mansion.

Physical defense powers…guess that includes me. Chi takes a position at the front of the group, and opens the door. Really, really loud creeking. More annoying than anything else.

"I think…" mumbled Marisol rather quietly, "that Ms. Frost is right. We failed this for good reason…"
She didn't actually look up while saying it.

"I don't agree with all of it…..like I said, we CAN'T seriously have been expected to negotiate with a giant spider…..but yeah. We wouldn't have lost if we didn't get in each other's way while we were trying to stop it."

"It was one mission. Don't overfocus on it."

I was very glad that I'd covered her ears.

«I am pretty sure I haven't said this to you, Proto. But more than any other character, I always want to strangle Lex. Personally, I consider that good role playing since I feel just the opposite about you »

Rapt looks around at the others in the room, then at Frost.

"Is there any problem if I were to try using this room to make a training session or two? With anyone, that is."

"One mission is all it takes. You'd know that if you were there when we faced Calamity. Go ask Curt. Ask him how he feels about his 'one mission'."

I don't think I did anything wrong, but I didn't do enough I guess. But that spider…..

«Sorry about that! I try to give advance notice on missions, but this was fairly spur of the moment. I will probably do a few like this during this week.»

«As for training missions, anyone should feel free to create them. In character or out I have no problem with someone else running one if they want…and in character, Chi is obsessed with designing Danger Room scenarios…for sparring with his teammates, for training by himself, or even for dating purposes…he's still trying to perfect his Rockefeller Center Ice Rink »

Rapt looks at the people still in the room.

"I think we might as well head over to the Wreck Room…maybe talk about what just happened?"

Rapt leads anyone that follows out to the Wreck Room!
