To me, children!
Post by The G-Man on Jul 10, 2007, 6:35pm

A cloaked old man knocks on the door of the bus. He is hunched over, but it is apparent that he has great power, though he chooses to hide it. He uses his long, sturdy staff to rap on the door.

*Knock knock knock*

"To me, children. It is cold out here!"

"My Parents aren't on this planet."

"Ah, but the Lord your god shall be your father, if but only you will accept him." He says through the glass. His breath is fogging up the window.

That would be a lot more effective if I cared he was cold.

"But I don't accept him."

"Ahhh…" You can almost hear a friendly chuckle in his voice. He knows he can change your mind.

"But you haven't seen what I offer, my boy. I've yet to offer you these… Religious pamphlets!" He reveals some religious pamphlets in all their glory.

~Arslan~

"I'm sorry," I say to Kee'an, walking up to the bus slowly, and stopping behind the old man. "My name is Arslan, and this man here is quite derranged. Well, he's okay when he's doped up, but he hasn't taken his meds today."

I turn my attention to the old man.

"Come on, now, gampy. Time to go home. You've got a lovely little hot water bottle waiting for you, and a couple of dozen pills."

"Sir, I am intrigued and wish to subscribe to your newsletter. Buzz off Arslan."

Re: To me, children!
Post by The G-Man on Jul 10, 2007, 6:54pm

"Nay, unbeliever!"

The old man casts off his cloak, a bright light emanating from him and illuminating all in sundry.

"Thine sins be not the bane of these children! Be gone!"

Re: To me, children!
Post by Meisha "Muse" Aisha on Jul 10, 2007, 6:56pm

"Birdie wants a peg!"

I reach into my inner pocket and pull out a huge hand gun, level it at the birdy boy's head and pull the trigger.

A flag with 'bang' written on it pops out of the barrel. I move it in front of my eyes, looking at it.

"Well, damn."

Re: To me, children!
Post by The G-Man on Jul 10, 2007, 6:58pm

Moses extends his staff and wraps the handle around Kee'an's stomach, pulling him under his mighty cloak.

"Thine sins shalt not taint the Lord's flock, whilst Heaven's Engine of Doom walks this Earth!"

"You are a crazy guy with super powers, huh?

I hate you. Soooooo much."

"Says the guy who got his kicks from electrocuting Muffy the Stake Slinger."

Re: To me, children!

"Take comfort boy, these powers come not from my own doing but from the Lord our God! He uses this vessel to guide the young sheep such as yourself to the heavenly gates, and herd more of your kin. Would you like to follow the word of God, and devote yourself to a cause such as mine?"

Moses staff glows with the holy light.

Re: To me, children!

I sigh and turn away.

"Oh, great. This again. Didn't you learn from the time we visited the muppets? I mean, I know you don't care about restraining orders, but it's about the principle of the matter, damn it!"

~Gerald Stryker~

Somehow, my aimless steps have taken me to…this place. A holy man…my father was a holy man, or acted as such. Is this a sign? Does it mean that I should keep strong in my faith, or is this man a charlatan like my father?

"…"

I pause, considering my words.

"Why hello there."

That'll have to do.

Re: To me, children!
Post by The G-Man on Jul 10, 2007, 7:10pm

"Good evening, boy" Moses says to Gerald as he ruffles Kee'an's feathers. "Do you know the word of God?"

Re: To me, children!
Post by Amelia "Heaven" Chow on Jul 10, 2007, 7:12pm

"The word of God…"

I glance at my father's Bible, which I've carried ever since I came across it, those long weeks ago in an event that was completely off panel and never really explained.

"I know it…or I know one version of it."

Re: To me, children!
Post by Meisha "Muse" Aisha on Jul 10, 2007, 7:12pm

"Yes, he knows the word of god, I know the word of god, we all know the word of god."

The next moment, I'm standing nose to nose with the new arrival.

"And that's what it's all about. I'd advise you to either run away as quickly as you can, or ignore anything the madman with the beautiful, flowing beard says."

"I've spent too long running. Both of my own choice, and due to the choices of others. I'm here, and no one is going to turn me away."

Re: To me, children!
Post by The G-Man on Jul 10, 2007, 7:16pm

*KLONK* As the staff is brought down on the back of Arslan's head.

"Good boy. Here, you've earned this nice religious pamphlet!"

He hands Gerald a religious pamphlet.

"Oh, joy! We've got a freaking believer!"

Re: To me, children!
Post by Meisha "Muse" Aisha on Jul 10, 2007, 7:17pm

"Freaking ow! Now you're just being evil and mean! Go nappy time!"

I pistol-whip Moses with the gun that's still got the flag sticking out of it.

Re: To me, children!
Post by Amelia "Heaven" Chow on Jul 10, 2007, 7:20pm

"…alrighty then."

Reading the pamphlet, I get on the bus and go to sleep. Because I'm tired. More tired than I've been since…Herkmoor.

Re: To me, children!
Post by The G-Man on Jul 10, 2007, 7:24pm

The pistol hits a brick Moses keeps buried in his beard, and the handle breaks off.

"I'm here to kick ass and hand out inoffensively worded religious pamphlets…"

He inches closer to arslan's face.

"And I'm all out of inoffensively worded religious pamphlets…"

Re: To me, children!
Post by Meisha "Muse" Aisha on Jul 10, 2007, 7:25pm

"That's just irritating. Whore face."

I wander over to rear of the bus, inspecting it.

Re: To me, children!

"Oh, I was being facetious. But don't expect the old bodger over there to ever make sense."

I crouch by the tire, examining that now.

"Nope. Damn you, Hitchcock."

"Is there something going on here?"

Re: To me, children!
Post by The G-Man on Jul 10, 2007, 8:11pm

Moses pets Kee'an. "My boy, if you had the power of the Lord your God behind you, truly things would make the sense you so truly desire. I would have granted you these strengths, if only I deemed that you could, and would, use them to serve the Lord your God…"

Moses absent mindedly pats his chest, where the two tablets hide under his shirt.

Re: To me, children!
Post by Meisha "Muse" Aisha on Jul 10, 2007, 8:11pm

"Not so much over here. But, uh… check your back."

Sure enough, there's a quiver on his back (even if it wasn't there before) filled with explosive arrows, and it's caught light. The fire runs down, igniting the arrows.

Re: To me, children!
Post by Danny O'Conner on Jul 10, 2007, 8:14pm

"NOT LIKE THIS!!!"

He runs around in a circle, before latching on to Kee'an(cause he's lame and deserves it) and running into a tree.

Re: To me, children!

I watch as the purple guy runs into a tree.

"Come on, this is just silly now."

Re: To me, children!
Post by The G-Man on Jul 10, 2007, 8:24pm

"Embrace your light, my boy!"

A beam from Heaven shines down, upon Kee'an. His eyes begin glowing fiery red, and huge, angelic wings sprout from his back.

"Rise, apostle of the Lord! Rise!!!"

Re: To me, children!

"Shit. You de-volved me into a bird, didn't you?"

Re: To me, children!
Post by Meisha "Muse" Aisha on Jul 10, 2007, 8:35pm

"Oh, for god's sake, you did it again! YOU FORGOT WHAT HAPPENED THAT TIME WITH THE FREAKING MUPPETS! THE FREAKING MUPPETS!"

I glance at Kee'an with a sigh.

"No, he gave you powers."

Re: To me, children!
Post by sam2 on Jul 10, 2007, 8:35pm

"The power to look like a bird?"

Re: To me, children!
Post by Meisha "Muse" Aisha on Jul 10, 2007, 8:37pm

"No you already had that one. Uhm… damn, what was it last time?" I bring a hand to the bridge of my nose and tilt my head down, thinking.

"It's flight and eye beams, I think."

Re: To me, children!

"Fly, you fool!"

Re: To me, children!

"Yeah, you wacko Shi'ar. Seriously."

He explodes.

Re: To me, children!
Post by sam2 on Jul 10, 2007, 8:50pm

"Whatever, just to prove you wrong."

I hold both arms over my head.

"HURGH!

See? Nothing."

« He was trying to fly like Gladiator, for thoes who may not get it. »

Re: To me, children!
Post by Meisha "Muse" Aisha on Jul 11, 2007, 4:26am

"Oh, I get it."

I point a thumb at Kee'an, looking at Moses.

"He's a freaking moron. Should we send him home?"

I turn back to Kee'an.

"Does birdie wanna go home?"
