Prime Sentinels

Project Nimrod involved humans who had been fitted with cybernetic nanotech implants which, upon activation, transformed the humans into armored beings with powerful weapons systems. These altered humans set up as sleeper agents, unaware of their natures until a signal from the Black Air satellites activated their programming.

The Sons of Niflheim aimed to turn Black Air's weapon against the world, and Generation X stopped them in their first mission.

The entire operation was believed dormant, if not safe, when placed in Agent Monica Lestrange's care, as her branch of Black Air was unaware of such a weapon.

In the future, it appears Chase Stein, now Iron Man and leader of The Loners terrorist group, has gained remote access to this long forgotten weapon, and used it to activate several Mid-West cities' worth of Sentinels, at the cost of the populace.

Prime Sentinels can adapt and become immune to methods of attack and mutant powers. They can harness energy in any form, and absorb or redirect it.

Prime Sentinels are equipped with several technological superpowers: flight, superstrength, and force-blasts. As well as this, they have the ability to dampen or disrupt the powers of mutants around them. They have combat computers, which allow them to compensate for surprising events faster than normal humans. Finally, their programming may use the natural personality of the host to lull unsuspecting targets into conversation, at which point they dampen their powers and kill them.

They can inject anyone with nanomachines that will turn the target into a Prime Sentinel.
