Post Training Mission 1 Wrap up
Post by K'lar on Oct 2, 2006, 1:22pm

The holograms fade away, leaving the New Mutants and Jubilee standing with Cannonball and Xavier (who is obviously sitting, not standing). Cannonball and Xavier has bewildered looks on their face. Jubillee is sulking.

"While I admire your craftiness….did it really seem like the best possible solution to collapse the front of the mansion?" Xavier asked. Oddly enough, his tone is more bemused than pissed.

Geforce stood there looking at the ground, and scratching his head, fishing for an acceptable response.

"Uh… Wreck told me to do it?"

Xavier nods, "I see…"

Jubillee is glaring daggers at Geforce, but storms off without a word (setting up their later encounter….yey continuity)

Cannonball shakes his head, "You could have killed your teammates. There had to be about a million better ways to subdue your opponents."

Greg took on a slightly more serious tone of voice.

"Not a chance. You know where I'm coming from Sam. There's no way I'd have pulled that stunt if I thought I could have killed somebody with it. I was in total control. The peices of the roof were mostly weightless when they touched down. I didn't return their weight until afterwards, to keep everyone pinned. Although everyone turned out to be just Wreck and Jubilee…"

He had a feeling he was going to have to add another name to the list of X-Men he had to steer clear of.

"Give credit where credit is due," said Almond in a faked, light tone. He felt dizzy. Maybe he'd puke, or something… He wasn't supposed to feel this way. He'd need something to take his mind off it.
"Seriously, pretty ingenious wasn't it? And we did win. Even in real life, I'd rather cause millions in collateral damage than lose, when it might potentially be so important."
He grinned.

He didn't feel very heroic. There was something about what the Professor had said… It wasn't heroes that shot their team-mates in the back as strong as they could without causing permanent harm. It wasn't heroes that hit their opponents when they were lying down and defenseless. It wasn't heroes that stopped at nothing to achieve their goals…
He felt more like a villain. And maybe that really was the mold he'd fit into well. A bitter old man with a grudge against the world, trying to make a lasting effect in tragedy before going?
He sighed.
He felt weak. He had hardly been touched during the whole exercise but he felt pain in the joints all over his body. His knees would probably ache during the nights and prevent him from sleeping for weeks. He still felt the bitter taste of his own blood in his mouth. And his head hurt.

He thought he'd enjoy victory more…

See, it’s the strangest thing, but…I don’t feel bad. At all

I know I should. I know I attacked my teammates and I probably went a little harder than I needed to and I probably took it way too seriously. I should feel bad.

But I don’t.

I mean, there was definitely a part of me that didn’t want to be doing what we did, that was afraid of hurting my teammates. But there was a bigger part of me that loved it, that lashed out and wanted to dominate and win, that enjoyed pounding on them and still kind of does. Honestly, that freaks me out more than anything.

Still… “I’m sorry, Professor.” I take a quick bow, eyes closed. Even if I don’t mean it…wonder if he can sense that…

Wreck meanwhile seems to be very anxious….not from the results of the mission, but from the fact his glasses were destroyed. He puts a hand in front of his teeth-eyes, then realizes that would look silly. Then he pulls the front of his shirt over his face, realizes that probably looks sillier and sighs, muffled.

"Ackshully, my shinking was that taking everyun down quick would be lesh hashardous. End the fight fash, y'know? One deshisive move."

«If I think about it, this character really is something of a failure. It deviates far too much from my original sign-up sheet - I forgot some things and added in things that should have been said before. I let too much of myself seep into him, and thus completely failed in fulfilling blackmore's expectations about writing the hardest character to write. Bah.»

«I am happy with that, actually. I want you guys to enjoy the characters you are playing, otherwise this becomes work. I actually like that Current goes a little bad ass every now and then »

[For what it's worth, I think you're doing a fine job.]

<Yeah, you'd never get him to admit it, but Current is probably the only member of the team Wreck doesn't actively dislike >

"THAT WAS BULLSHIT SAM! I WAS STILL STANDING!"

Lex storms out of the room.

"Somesh people mush wike being beat up."

Re: Post Training Mission 1 Wrap up
Post by Protoman on Oct 2, 2006, 7:09pm

Lex stops at the door and whips around.

"What was that freak eyes?"

Lex looks very angry.

Re: Post Training Mission 1 Wrap up
Post by Wreck on Oct 2, 2006, 7:16pm

"I shaid….."

Wreck pops his head out of his shirt.

"…..some people must LIKE being beat up. I mean, I wasn't there, but from what I've been told you were down to, what…..a five on one?"

He smiles, narrowing his deformed eyes.

"Course, if you'd like the same from a ONE on one….."

Re: Post Training Mission 1 Wrap up
Post by Protoman on Oct 2, 2006, 7:18pm

"You want some of this?!"

Lex starts to increase the temperature of Wrecks body.

Re: Post Training Mission 1 Wrap up
Post by Wreck on Oct 2, 2006, 7:30pm

"Ooh, tingly. Didn't anyone tell you I have the pain tolerance of a PCP junkie on a four week bender?"

Wreck suddenly has his guns out, aimed at Heatwave's kneecap.

"Back off. I may get cooked, but if I do, I'll make sure you never walk again."

Re: Post Training Mission 1 Wrap up
Post by Protoman on Oct 2, 2006, 7:32pm

"Those bullets will be melted before they touch me. I am so not in the mood for your shit."

Lex continues to heat up Wreck.

«Should we keep going or wait for Sam to break it up?»

Re: Post Training Mission 1 Wrap up
Post by Wreck on Oct 2, 2006, 7:41pm

Wreck squeezes off a shot, veering off at the last second so the bullet lands next to Heatwave's foot.

"I don't think you're as fast as you think you are. Again. Back off, or next time I won't miss."

Re: Post Training Mission 1 Wrap up

<And we could go on, but without someone to roll the dice, it'd degenerate into "I hit you! No, I hit you!" >

«That's true.»

Re: Post Training Mission 1 Wrap up

Geez, and I thought the boys in the tunnels played rough.

"Guys, knock it off." I create a wall between them…and tear up the Danger Room's floor to do. As a matter of fact, as I look around, I can't help but noticing that I've torn up the floor in a lot of places while we were doing the mission; had to break through it to get my dirt, so… "Oops."

Re: Post Training Mission 1 Wrap up
Post by Wreck on Oct 2, 2006, 9:23pm

Wreck smirks, then twirls his guns and puts them away again.

"Welcome to the New New Mutants, where we blast each other six times as often as we blast any bad guys."

Then he seemingly remembers his predicament. Wreck looks around, then quickly snatches the glasses off of Jubilee's head and sticks them on his face.

Re: Post Training Mission 1 Wrap up
Post by Protoman on Oct 2, 2006, 10:01pm

Lex walks around the wall that Madrock put up and sees Wreck wearing Jubilee's glasses.

"Wow, you looks even stupider with pink glasses than you did with no glasses. Give those back to her, take these."

Lex hands his own sunglasses to Wreck.

"And I'm sorry for overreacting. You made a good point about fighting each other not enemies. If it's possible, I'd like to become friends."

Lex extends his hand to shake hands with Wreck.

Re: Post Training Mission 1 Wrap up
Post by Wreck on Oct 2, 2006, 10:13pm

Wreck takes the sunglasses and looks to Heatwave's hand. Then to his face.

Then he smiles.

"…….let's not go overboard."

Tossing Jubilee's glasses over his shoulder towards her, he walks back to his room.

"Oh…ok"

Lex looks almost discouraged. The temperature in the room begins to drop.

"Is this a bad time to gloat over my victory?" sneered Almond behind him, while observing his breath condense.
"Er… Our victory."
