I'm pretty liberal with XP, when you look at the point values.
5 for day one, 5 for day two.
5 for doing something above and beyond.
5 for finding "Hidden Solutions".
3 for decent fics that go above and beyond.
8 for starting a Trainer.
3 for participating in said Trainer.
If anything's at fault, it's that the Players who run Trainers haven't reported the XP earned to me. That's their job, not the GMs.

«I am home babysitting for the day, so I decided to watch some of my G.I. Joe DVD's. AS a huge fan of the comics, the cartoons are okay, but I find myself griping about a lot of little things. BUT, I do love that in the theme song they do seperate Cobra and Destro into seperate mentions, which is a nice detail »

Chandilar…IN SPACE!!!
The team is escorted by guards into the courtroom. Xavier accompanies them to the doors, then tells them that he must enter with the Majestrix, wishes them luck, and leaves.
The courtroom is massive. It is one of the largest indoor areas you have seen, almost the size of a domed stadium. It seems deliberately designed to make the defendents look small and insignificant. The defendent area is a simple white circle on the ground, which Nadia is forced to stand in alone, with a larger area that her friends can stand in, also denoted by a white circle. Nicolette can choose to stand with Nadia or everyone else. Before you is a massive pinnacle of crystal, with two smaller side pedestals. Jilact, the prosecutor Nicolette briefly spoke to, is on one of them. On another, Oracle's body is arranged in state, but upright. Her arms are crossed over her chest, and her eyes shut. It almost looks like she's a vampire in a B-movie waiting to awaken. She is in a transparent glass-seeming tube.
Around the periphery, many members of the Elite are seated, as well as some of the Juber's crew and a group of people who very well may represent the Council. Electron, Starbolt, Hussar, Warstar, Smasher, Titan, and Manta are clearly visible, as are many other Elite members.
A strange chime sounds, and everyone stands. The Majestrix gracefully strides to the top of the largest pedestal, with Xavier behind her. Another chime, and everyone sits.
The prosecutor begins speaking…
"Majestrix Lilandra Neramani, absolute ruler of the Shi'ar Imperium, we present to you the guilty party, Nadia Johannsen, otherwise known as Osmosis Lass of the Imperial Guard Auxilliary. She stands accused of the murder of Elite member Oracle. It should be noted that Elite Member Oracle was suspected of being infected with the egg of a Brood Queen, and also noted that Kular, chief medical office of the Imperial cruiser Juber on which this incident occurred, believes that there was a Brood egg within Oracle at the time and that the crew had no other options. It should also be noted that the Auxilliary took actions above and beyond their call of duty to preserve the vessel and the crew, and ultimately saved many lives that day. It is the view of the prosecutor that the guilty party receive a pardon. In keeping with Terran custom, the guilty party has selected Auxilliary member Prime to speak on her behalf briefly."
Electron looks PISSED. Everyone else seems to be discussing things quietly, but in a shocked fashion. Xavier and Lilandra look rather happy at this turn of events.

Nicolette stood at Nadia's side, and now took a step forwards, looking over at the audience as calmly as she could. This was a very big crowd indeed, and it was worrying that any mistake she made would have equally huge consequences. As a result, she couldn't afford any mistakes. She suppressed any worry she was feeling. Nervousness was a useless emotion, and this was going to have to be the performance of a lifetime.
She was silent for a moment, during which she considered what to say.
"Your Majesty, Councilors, honorable members of the Imperial Guard Elite…" she began, her voice soft, yet loud and clear.
"I'd like to ask you a simple question. If I was infected by the Brood, what would you have done with me? I don't think there's any question about it. As far as I know, killing is the standard procedure. People have been forced to kill their fellows in countless battles with the Brood, including the fight on the Juber. I admit, I don't know anything about the legal precedents of this case, but I'm fairly sure most of those people weren't faced with a court martial…
"Of course, this situation isn't just like any other. Oracle wasn't only a very special person by herself, she was also a member of the Imperial Guard Elite: important, respected, idolized, loved… and that's just it. I don't think it's fair to make this case an exceptions because of these factors. I only knew Oracle for a short while, but I had gotten the impression she didn't like or want to receive preferential treatment because of her status. So you, who knew her so much better than I did, should ask yourselves: "Would Lady Sybill have wanted this?" Would she have wanted an innocent child to suffer for something that can only be called an act of mercy, and simply because Oracle was who she was?
"To an extent, I understand your viewpoint. If any one of my teammates or loved ones died under such circumstances, I would probably have been out for blood as well. That said, I doubt you understand our viewpoint as well… I think this situation has taught me a little. Hopefully, I'll never have to experience what you are, but if I do, I'd know how important it is to maintain perspective - to look beyond the grief and pain."
"The Brood are terrible beings. They're like a plague, and there is NO cure for it under normal circumstances. We couldn't have been expected to come up with one then and there. No one could have. Death was the only real option, as horrifying as it is. Would anyone among you have expected anything else for themselves? Most people don't want to die, that's a simple fact - but it's better than turning into one of them. You all KNOW I'm right on this. The death of flesh or the death of the spirit as well… Is there a choice?"
She looked down and paused briefly.
"I… I would say I have a lot to live for, and I want to live for it, but even I would want someone to finish me. It's not murder, it's release. It should always be hard for anyone, but it's ultimately best for everyone. Now, please, cope. During our acquaintance, Oracle left big impressions to quite a few of us. I know I liked her. What we had to do was certainly hard, but I can imagine that it's a million times more difficult for you, who are her trusted superiors, friends, or even more, who had known her for so long…
"Still, the fact is, this trial is a knee-jerk reaction. I don't think whether she 'really' was infected or not is a question at all. As any telepath can verify, she told me herself. True, she didn't say the exact words, but only because she couldn't. It was implicitly clear from her words, actions and behavior. She knew because of her powers, and I don't see a reason to doubt her. What kind of concrete evidence would you expect? I beg of you, don't convict Osmosis Lass because of a technicality…
"Look at her."
She gestured towards Nadia heatedly. It would have had a much greater effect if the crowd could actually see either of them up close, but she made do with what she had.
"Just look at her! Do you think it was EASY for her to do this? That it wasn't one of the most difficult decisions in her life? No! She's heart-broken over it. Any of us would be, but it was doubly difficult for her because of her youth. You should be amazed she had the courage and strength of character to do the right thing in such a tense and unforgiving situation. She put everything on the line for Oracle, including her innocence. Nothing you can do to her would match her guilt over it. But she did what someone had to do, and I'm very proud of her for doing it…"
She tried to make eye contact for a moment, then turned back at the crowd.
"Indeed, I wish I could have released Oracle myself, and taken this burden off her shoulders. Oracle actually wanted me to kill her, but I didn't understand what she expected, and so I failed her. Later on, when I knew to try, it was too late and I wasn't able to do anything. Unfortunately, only Nadia was. Although I have absolutely no desire to kill anyone, ever, it would have probably been better if I had done it. Honestly, I'm not pretentious enough to say I'd be glad to take Nadia's place - and perhaps punishment - but I had the will to kill her all the same, so you might as well accuse me as well. I don't regret it either. It's a matter of duty.
"We were probably some of the few people - if not the only ones - on the Juber who could have managed to finish Oracle, hero of billions. Nadia gave her a chance to go with dignity - as Lady Sybill of Alintorn 3 instead of a malicious beast. Certainly, she was afraid at first, but she accepted her fate and found peace. That's the best we could hope for. There won't be a day in my life where I won't blame myself for not being stronger, not being smarter, not being better - and thus letting this happen to Oracle, but I'm happy we could do this much for her at least. Asking you to appreciate Nadia's actions is too much to ask for, but you should at least understand them. None of us deserve to be punished, her least of all.
"We came out here, away from our homes and families, to learn and to serve the Shi'ar Imperium. None of us are perfect, but we do our jobs as well as we can. We'll always make decisions based on our consciences, but we are loyal. Please - PLEASE! - don't make us pay for Nadia doing the right thing…"

Mike nods. There were definitely a few things in there that worried him, like belittling the Shi'ar by saying we were the only ones who could have helped Oracle. But it was a good speech, and should score some points.
Honestly, Mike was not expecting this trial to go well, and he was preparing for a fight.

Lilandra places her left hand out, palm upstretched.
"As Majestrix of the Shi'ar Imperium, I have heard the case presented, and I have determined…"
Suddenly, the main door to the courtroom opens.
"I hope I'm not late to the party?" a familiar voice asks.
In strides Deathbird, very haughtily.
Lilandra looks at her angrily. "Sister, you have no place in these proceedings, except as a spectator. You should not be disrupting…this is highly inappropriate."
Deathbird responds, "Oh, on the contrary, it's highly appropriate."
She strides up to the pillar Lilandra and Xavier are on.
"You see, I've been reviewing legal precedents, star charts, what have you, and it turns out, and this is key, this incident happened within former Kree territory. Territory that YOU have determined that *I* oversee military matters, including but not limited to court martials, within. I can present the logs of the Juber for evidence. The Acanti was clearly in my jurisdiction. Therefore, and I'll admit that I only half-listened to this…drivel, but, well, kill her. Thank you."
The court in general begins a massive uproar. The prosecutor attempts to call it to order. Lilandra and Xavier are furiously consulting. Everything seems to break down into chaos.

Truthfully, she had thought of Deathbird the instant Xavier had told her about a possible plot against them, but she hadn't accounted for that variable…
"I don't think so," she muttered under her breath, and moved closer to Nadia.

Deathbird seems more amused by Roxanne's antics than anything else, and doesn't dignify her with a proper response except for what can only be called a shit eating grin.
The doors open again, and Gladiator walks in.
Everyone grows silent.
"Majestrix."
He drops to one knee.
"I have reviewed the logs and the appropriate starcharts when hearing of the Viceroy's objection. This did occur in former Kree territory. I also reviewed your law establishing the Viceroy's position, and I quote: 'The Majestrix will not gainsay the Viceroy in legal matters pertaining to the military presence within the former Kree territories.' Indeed, two weeks removed, you allowed Deathbird to overrule you on the matter of Mintus, former Kree citizen, and change the venue of his trial to Hala. Therefore, the legal precedent is with Deathbird in this case."
The silence is almost deafening. Lilandra and Xavier look composed, but obviously shocked. Deathbird looks really cocky. And Electron looks satisfied.
Starbolt flies out of the audience to stand before the pedestals.
"This is insanity! You cannot do this!"
He makes a move as if to strike Deathbird, and Gladiator immediately restrains him. Deathbird taunts him briefly by sticking out her tongue.
Lilandra pauses, then declares, "As much as it saddens me, the Viceroy is correct in this matter. Nadia Johansson will be executed."

"The challenge is accepted," Deathbird says. "As the officiating party, I select Electron to lead the Imperial Guard Elite in this matter."
Lilandra speaks up, "The Praetor is unavailable on urgent business of the Majestrix."
Deathbird shrugs, "Fine, fine. I'm sure we'll be able to handle this without him. They are, after all, children. And Terrans, moreover. Shall we say…three hours of preparation? Not that it matters. And we'll handle this on the Blue Area of Terra's Moon, just for old time's sakes. Ta ta."
She walks off, and the courtroom quickly clears.

I sigh at Roxy and Nico's comments but try to steel my resolve after that. All my fear and concerns about my friends being hurt over me are just as present and worry me just as much. But… we need as much confidence as possible here. Expressing my doubts… only drags morale down even further. The fight has been called, no going back now. Have to be convinced that we can do it. Xavier sighs heavily, and suddenly looks very fallible.

Xavier can't seem to finish. It's very different from his usual outward appearance.
The group, including Xavier and Amelia, are quickly ushered onto the Juber to head for the Moon. The preparation and transit time are very close, and there seems to be some concern that without leaving immediately, some kind of bizarre forfeit rule will be declared. The Juber is going much faster than typical, everyone can feel that.

Xavier answers Nicolette, "The Elite is under no obligation to reveal their compliment. We know that Electron will be present, and we know that Gladiator will not be. We can assume that Starbolt will not be. Beyond that…tradition dictates that Electron pick a squad he is comfortable with. I would assume that the Elite members most familiar with you will not attend, because Electron desires your deaths and they may hesitate. Be thankful that Smasher and Starbolt are among those likely recused, as is Gladiator."

"The problem, Rapt, is that Electron is an electro-magnetic manipulator, capable of performing both in the manner of Magneto and the manner of Current or Electro, but has more capability with the electricity side of the equation. He can switch to an electro-magnetic attack as desired, so it is difficult to prepare for him. Also, a thought occurred to me for levelling the playing field."
He smiles slightly.
"It was previously lost on me what exactly the loss of Oracle means to the Elite. Obviously, there are the sentimental reasons, but also…they no longer have a member to block me telepathically reading the roster from Electron."

The book has pop up holograms of various Elite members, and talks rather excitedly about each of them. It's also obviously designed for cross marketing, and seems to talk for about 2-3 minutes about other products before getting to anything of substance.

Mike is focusing on all the stuff Oracle taught him, and trying to recreate what he felt each time he "thought" he heard a message in his head, or someone else seemed to hear his thoughts.
He tests by sending to Amelia How far would you have gone yesterday? If it works, it would not be the words in Amelia's head, it is images of what happened last night, and what Mike would thinking would happen. And his sheer amusement by her falling asleep, and his own peace watching her sleep…and some sexual frustration worked in there that Mike had to…. big stop sign appears

Mike tries to slip back into his meditation. He is definitely curious why Amelia didn't acknowledge his attempt at all. Did it fail to send? Or did he freak her out like he did Rapt? And what did this mean for his friendship with Rapt? And the rest of the team. Xavier had always freaked Mike out, and now he had telepathy powers too. Is that how everyone was going to see him? Oh my god, this is a disaster! Life was so much easier when he had a broken force field…and now he had telepathy…and Xavier said he reminded him of Jean.
Oh my god! What if I turn into the Phoenix? I 'm not a fan of broccoli but I don't want a whole planet of it to die. And the crew? What would they think? They are going to totally think I am ripping off Oracle, and they'll hate me too."

Fang's essentially a low tier wolf-girl with decent combat abilities and minor healing factor. The guy I posted a picture of is Neutron, he's got strength derived from solar power. He can channel extra power for periods which exhausts him, but is generally at about 80 tons, with Colossus level durability and flight. The other two are difficult to pin names to with the time and other resources in hand.»

"You have to divide yourself up, I'm afraid. If worse comes to worse and we'll be forced into a direct confrontation, I would suggest you create Golem to fight Neutron. Just getting him into a standstill, where he's too busy to affect the rest of the fight is fine. At the same time, use your powers on anyone convenient. You should have an easier time due to the gravity, so be sure to use more rocks, that weigh more, to make up for the difference in gravity. Try to stay back and use the ruins as cover as much as you can."

The team arrives on time, and is transported down to the Blue Area. Majestic ruins of a past civilization, that seemed to have absolutely no idea how to efficiently plan a city and somehow laid it out in the most random fashion possible. The Elite has not yet landed. Xavier and Amelia wished them luck before they left, and now…now…a calm before the storm. Last minute instructions and suggestions. After a few posts, it'll be on.

The Elite are unmistakably approaching. At least three are airborne, only slightly above the city, about the level of the taller towers. They're not moving fast, but they are moving, and seem to be in some form of general search pattern.

There's cover. But there's a question of how much you want to use it. The buildings seem about ready to fall over…in fact, some of them have. There looks to be some more stable ruins a little ways further forward…

Rapt looks around after the boom, then back to his target, focusing only on the rifle. Waiting for Fang to enter the shot….and there.
Leading ahead to compensate for firing lag time, the moment his finger leaves the trigger, Rapt slings the rifle up, and takes off, not intending to remain in the same spot for more than a single shot at a time.

While Seed's focused on Electron, he gets hit by a neuron whip, hard, around the throat. He's still conscious, but unable to control the plants. Or even really speak. In fact, for some reason, he can only say prepositions.
Neutron approaches Rapt. "You. Will. Get. Out. Of. The. Way."
Mike's able to shoot Hussar right after she gets Seed, though, so, there's that. But then, the rifle's out of his hands and a bunch of component parts are speedily dropped out of the air in front of him.

Nicolette landed some ways off with a grunt, and immediately pulled herself back to her feet. Thankfully, the book seemed to be all right, but she herself now had a stabbing pain in her chest, and she had felt more of the impacts than she usually would have. She tried to fly back to the scene.

'For all the things I've seen…and done, I've actually managed to avoid breaks. Even sprains were rare. Aside from a broken leg early on, I'd learnt to avoid things that could break them, being as fragile as they were. This was at least ten times as many bones breaking. It felt like a lot more. I can barely even see, my vision is….flashing, and red. I…can't move without everything flaring black for a minute. I can use my touchsense…

Whew that punch actually hurt. I don't think I've ever been hit that hard…can't let this guy know he had any effect on me though.

I pummel him from all sides with superspeed, probably faster than I've ever been before. After a few punches from all sides…I concentrate on one spot. I hit him a thousand times if I hit him once.

She didn't believe it, no matter what she said or how convincing she was while saying it.

I'm silent for a moment as he stargazes and Roxy and Nico talk to him. I've looked out there enough times since we've been in space to know that the stars can be either comforting or terrifying. I hope he feels the former.

Electron looks around. Then he looks down. Then he looks up. Then, finally, he looks at Nadia.
"I surrender. The Elite surrender on the field of honor."
Then he turns away and walks off. The rest of the Elite stop fighting. Seed is recovering, but Rapt's…lucky to be alive. Everyone is beamed up, and I have to go and won't be back til Monday. So start fall-out topics if you want.

Part of me is happy. Overjoyed even. But I don't really show it. We get to live, but my heart weeps for Electron all the same. Worse, Rapt has been seriously injured. I approach him after Roxy puts me down, but don't touch him, afraid of doing extra damage.

Mike is looking at Nic. He does not send this Good job leader…let's talk the bad guy to death while your teammates drop like flies. And leaving Rapt to fight the biggest and strongest…so you can go for the glory. Is that how it's going to be? I don't care about crushing her ego now…Rapt has my full support as leader.
