Long live Gen X! (or…Delayed reaction)

Hm. I wonder what this "video message log" button does.

Hey, it's that dweeb from the mansion! Great.

Hm, he's saying the Australia people are dead. That's interesting.

Wait, that means I nailed a chick who's dead now. That's sort of creepy.

"Hey Ms. Frost? Did you know that a whole bunch of Xavier's students died? Including some chick I nailed? That's creepy."

There's a long silence from the drivers seat, a whole minutes worth in fact, and it almost seems as if Emma didn't hear him - but she answers. Not even telepathically. "Don't believe everything you hear, Jay. X-Men rarely stay in the dead category for long."

Torrance looks up from her book.

"Really? The whole crew?" She pauses. "That's…sudden."

Could have been me. I wonder if I should have survivor's guilt.

Emma glances back, one eye on Torrance and the other on the road. "All the more reason to not put much stock in it, dear. Ms. Pride and Ms. Summers are exactly friends of mine, but they're more competent than that."

Torrance moves up to the opposite aisle seat closest to the driver's seat, and leans over.

"I've been meaning to ask, the exchange program space thing…I don't think we got an actual exchange, as much as they just kind of… took Rapt and all."

"But what about that Proudstar guy? I mean sure, he had a brother or whatever that was exactly the same, but he's been dead for a while. I mean, if Megs is dead, then I guess she is, but that's still freaky."

"That is true, yes…between you and I, Earth has a very bad reputation across the universe. They see as underdeveloped, poorly cultured, barbarians - in reality, we're not that bad, but that's the perception. There are few-"

Emma takes a pause as a trucker driver pulls up beside them and takes a look inside - a rather long, lecherous, uncomfortable look. She speeds up and stops the peep show. "As I was saying, there are few Shi'ar who'd be willing to leave their plush lives on Chandilar and comes to the boondocks they consider Earth to be. But I hear Charles has been talking on that front. We might have some company soon."
