Post Mission 2
Post by Last Hero on Jan 8, 2007, 5:40pm

When the group comes back to the Club, they find that a large number of the goons are dancing around like ballerinas. It would seem Emma Frost woke up and let herself out.

After getting that mess cleaned up, the team has time to take in what happened. They lost. Rather badly. No way to get around it. On top of that, they lost a very powerful member in the process, and Shaw's not likely to just let it slide…

It's turning into evening now, and all the Hellions are scattered throughout the household, taking in the day's events.

It doesn't make sense. By all rights, it doesn't make sense.

I'm in the Recreational Room, sitting in front of the TV, watching the DVD over and over, with intense focus on Marisol. I don't hold a grudge. I'm not mad. I can accept the fact that I lost…I simply can't figure out why.

I studied her, prepared for her, I was ready, but I still lost. Control escaped me, she surprised me, I made careless mistakes, I underestimated her…all valid reasons. If today was proof of anything, it was that I need to hone my powers, break the psychic link between me and the flames, so that I can discover my limits safely. But how…

I float into the Rec Room, and the first person I notice is Wildfire. I set myself down besides her sadly.

“Are you okay, Wildfire?”

Re: Post Mission 2

"I'm fine." I only glance Star's way, focusing back at the video. "I'm simply reviewing a few things."

Nicolette stood before the door of Shinobi Shaw's private office. She was hesitant to move in. It wasn't as if she was nervous - not really… but this needed to be a flawless preformance.

She took a deep breath and knocked.

Re: Post Mission 2

He sits on one of the couches in the Recreational Room, staring off into space. He did not win his match with Wreck. He is okay with that, for the most part. As he thought when he finally gave into the pain of Wreck's entropy field, he had nothing really staked into the outcome of the battle. He possessed no militaristic drive for success and had nothing to prove. The only thing that really bothered him was that he seemed to have been set up to fail. Shaw set him up against the only New Mutant that could not be killed. And that blasted entropy field… the only thing that really ever broke through his constructs like that was Star's light beams. The only New Mutant that could have given him a problem. Shaw was either inept or… he was probably just inept.

The altercation with Kidd had been fun until she involved him in it. What a bothersome child. That she was capable of escaping from the dark place was news to him… But didn't really mean anything. By that point, the darkness had had its way with her, and that was enough. The most annoying thing about the whole situation as far as he was concerned, was Star's seemingly infinite optimism. It had no end in sight - like she could try to find the good in anything. And she still wasn't coming to grips with the type of organization the Hellions are. Ah. And she's in here now. He rolls his eyes. Wonderful.

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Last Hero on Jan 8, 2007, 6:07pm

"It's nothing, I just…" The floor starts to burn beneath me, but I simmer down quickly enough. "Do you remember how you said that I should have won my battle against Marisol without any difficulty?"

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Kelly Alecia "Edenstar" Lisa on Jan 8, 2007, 6:09pm

Feeling like she should be eating my words right now, I nodded.

“Yeah… I do. I guess it wasn’t so clear cut. But, hey, you were fighting someone who’s basically impervious to most forms of harm. Sure, you had her weakness at hand, but so did she – a massive body of water. It wasn’t as straight forward as it seemed.”

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Last Hero on Jan 8, 2007, 6:15pm

"Maybe…but I lost control of myself. The water wouldn't have been problematic if I hadn't gone near it." I sigh, restarting the program again and watching Marisol's battles from the beginning. "It's completely my fault, and it was only blink luck that I didn't lose control in a serious confrontation."

Nicolette knocks, and a maid comes out of the room instead of Shaw, her face reddened in a blush. She looks at Nicolette, embarrassed, before she runs off down the hall.

"Come in."

Re: Post Mission 2

[And for the record, the reason I put Erebus up against Wreck was because I was curious what would go down if Erebus did some soul messing with Wreck.

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Marisol "Solidity" Morales on Jan 8, 2007, 6:17pm

Nicolette watched the maid's quickly retreating back with a measure of disgust… After a few seconds, she caught herself and stepped in, carefully closing the door behind her. She was walking this time… She headed straight for his desk and took a seat.
"Good day, Mr. Shaw," she said, her voice a careful balance of neutrality.

“Well, that’s an aspect of your powers, isn’t it? It doesn’t seem to me that it can be helped that much. And in most other Hellion fights, you’ll have me and the others watching out for you,” I replied cheerily, resting a hand on Wildfire’s shoulder, trying to be reassuring.

Re: Post Mission 2

I pause the video and look up at her, finally pressed enough to ask a question I've been pondering for so long. "Star, I must ask, how can you be so happy all the time? How do you manage that?"

+++

"Ah, Ms. Savard." Shaw was quick to wipe the smiles and lipstick off his face, straightening out his coat. "Sit, please. There's much to talk about." He leans back in his chair, fingers crossed, looking for all the world like the mastermind he believes himself to be. "I heard about the outing today. Would you mind explaining yourself?"

Re: Post Mission 2

"What, specifically?" asked Nicolette with a saintly expression.

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Kelly Alecia "Edenstar" Lisa on Jan 8, 2007, 6:30pm

I look at Wildfire blankly for a while, and then stand up, looking down on her.

“I think I’m a bit tired now, after everything that happened today, Wildfire. I’m probably going to hit the hay. See you in the morning, have a good night.”

I’m now standing besides the sofa, but stop there. I haven’t actually started heading out of the room even yet, and I’m only a metre away from Wildfire.

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Last Hero on Jan 8, 2007, 6:38pm

That was…sudden. Something seems wrong with her, but suppose it's none of my business…however if it's a serious problem, it could affect her performance in a mission. It's best that I lend aid and squash the trouble here, instead of letting it fester.

Yes. That's my reason.

I stand up and put a hand on Star's shoulder, halting her before she gets too far away. "Star, is something wrong?"

+++

"Well, when I appointed you as the leader, I was under the impression that you could keep the team in control. However, after one mission, we're a Hellion short, lost to the New Mutants no less." He shook his head, sighing. "Also, you lost the majority of your matches, even though I clearly stacked them in your favor. Even the simple task of keeping Zephyr as our captive…I hear that he got away right from under you. Very disappointing."

Re: Post Mission 2

I walk into the room and see Wildfire talking to Kelly, I sit down in a chair without interuppting them.

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Kelly Alecia "Edenstar" Lisa on Jan 8, 2007, 6:42pm

I turned around when Wildfire put her hand on my shoulder and manufactured a smile.

“Of course not. What could be wrong?” I asked. “Lemons and lemonade, you know? Laugh with the world.”

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Last Hero on Jan 8, 2007, 6:51pm

I feel like I should press it, like there's something I should be noticing that I'm not, but this is largely out of my field of expertise. "If you're sure. However, if you have a problem, you should allow me or someone else on the team to address, as you said to me. It's best to deal with it now than on the battlefield."

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Kelly Alecia "Edenstar" Lisa on Jan 8, 2007, 6:54pm

“Sure. The battlefield comes first, right?” I replied, somewhat sadly. “Tell you what, if you give me something to call you other than your codename, something that you feel belongs to you, then I’ll talk. I’ve got to tell you though – what I’ve got on my mind is no big deal.”

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Marisol "Solidity" Morales on Jan 8, 2007, 6:55pm

Game, set and match…

"Yes, indeed," she began, "I'm horrified with my failure to keep him restrained. However, in my defense, it seems like he wasn't properly sedated like I specifically requested before we set out…" In actuality, she had done no such thing, but Shaw had only visited them very briefly in the morning, to reiterate their commands at them. She could have done it at any other time…

"I know that doesn't excuse the fact that I let myself be defeated by him…" She sighed and had the decency to look down.

"In general, I agree though. Our mission can't be seen as anything other than a failure due to the losses we took." She smiled slightly. "I don't see how you can blame me for that, though. After all, you yourself wanted us to engage the New Mutants individually. That's what we did, and thus there was not much use for my leadership skills. There was nothing I could do…"

It looked like there was something Shaw wanted to say, but Nicolette kept on going.

"Be that as it may, I'm not sure how to address the situation with Gammadrop properly, Mr. Shaw," she said with a slight look of worry, "I can't do anything but repeat my concerns over such unstable personalities on the team. Gammadrop was a ticking time bomb - the same thing would eventually have happened anyway, perhaps right here? And can you imagine the consequences of that?"

She shook her head sadly. "It could have ended disasterously…"

«And gotta go to bed now… »

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Last Hero on Jan 8, 2007, 6:58pm

All I can do sigh; first Nicolette, now her. Isn't one name enough? "I was never really given a formal name, but if you have to call me something, go by mother's: Izabella Matrioshka. Bella will do."

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Last Hero on Jan 8, 2007, 7:06pm

Shaw takes her words into consideration for a moment. "Yes, it could have." His eyes fall to some paperwork on the table; at a glance, it seems to be a resume. "I put Gammadrop on the team believing that she could be controlled with the right incentives, and I must admit, that might've been a poor decision on my part. However, even looking at this in the most positive light, I can't help but question your postion, Ms. Savard. Going by what you say, you're not failing in your position - but your not excelling, either."

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Kelly Alecia "Edenstar" Lisa on Jan 8, 2007, 7:07pm

"It's alright, if you feel it doesn't belong to you then I'm fine calling you Wildfire. But I do think that it's something that you should do. Give yourself an actual, formal name, that is." I looked down for a moment, avoiding her gaze, before looking back to her.

"If you were expecting a story or something with actual depth, I'm afraid that you'll be missing that here. I guess… I guess what's wrong is just- everything was taken away from me, and all so quickly. I know that probably doesn't sound like much to you - you had things far worse than I ever did, and from the sound of things you never really had much in your life besides Hydra. But it was something to me. And I just keep thinking - keep expecting that if I act like everything's fine and everything's normal, and acting like I would be if it hadn't happened, then that would be it. Everything would be fine." I stopped.

I started smiling again, but this one was genuine. "And as for your real question - I guess I just like to look on the bright side of things," I said, giving a rather shallow responce to that particular question.

«For the record, Kelly asked for a name before Nico .»

"Well, now that you mention what you've done…" I said before I saw the expression on her face. "I'm not mad at you. Don't be silly. Why would I be? I was just wondering about how you wanted to join the New Mutants."

Re: Post Mission 2

"Oh, that. Well, Rogue made some good points. What are we doing here? Why are we with the Hellions and not the New Mutants? I just figured it would be a good idea, but I couldn't leave Nicolette," I look sad.

Re: Post Mission 2

"But… this is our home. You'd be leaving me behind too."

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Protoman on Jan 8, 2007, 7:53pm

"No Kelly, once I'd convinced Nicolette I was going to ask you to come with us. That oppurtunity never arose, I'm sorry if you felt that I was abandoning you. I'd never do that, you're quite possibly the best friend I've ever had," I lean over and hug Kelly.

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Kelly Alecia "Edenstar" Lisa on Jan 8, 2007, 7:54pm

Returning the hug, albeit a bit half-heartedly due to the topic, I pressed on. "You heard Zephyr. They don't want us there. What would it be like amongst people who only hated us?"

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Protoman on Jan 8, 2007, 7:56pm

"I don't think they'd hate us if we got to know them, it's not like we made a very good first impression on Zephyr."

"I suppose. But he made a direct reference to you. He called us all crazy."

"He specified me because I stole his goggles," I laugh. "He probably wants those back…"

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Kelly Alecia "Edenstar" Lisa on Jan 8, 2007, 8:01pm

"Did you give them back?" I asked. "They'd hate us, Meghan. They were so biased against us that they broke into our home, hurt us, and then judged us calling us evil. Zephyr came in here and knocked both me and Tangle out, and judged us."

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Protoman on Jan 8, 2007, 8:02pm

"No I didn't give them back, but if we joined them I would. At first Zephyr seemed like a jerk, but I'm sure he's ot if we got a chance to get to know him," I responded. "They're all probably pretty nice."

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Kelly Alecia "Edenstar" Lisa on Jan 8, 2007, 8:09pm

"I don't know… who breaks into someone's home?" I asked. "Also, it's not like they tried to help us out in the first place - only when we became their problem. When you were homeless, did they reach out to you? When I lost everything, did they reach out to me?" I continued, beginning to approach tears.

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Protoman on Jan 8, 2007, 8:11pm

"I suppose you're right, but most of them seemed nice enough. A lot of the people around here are mean or evil," I sigh. "I don't know…"

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Kelly Alecia "Edenstar" Lisa on Jan 8, 2007, 9:35pm

"Mean and evil? Did you hear that Emma Frost woman?" I asked, brushing away the tears that were coming now. I couldn't stop thinking about it. I wish it would stop.

"Are you crying Kelly? Is something bothering you, something more than you're telling me?"

Re: Post Mission 2

"No, it's…," I stopped thinking about it. The tears stopped. "It's silly. When I stopped acting like everything was okay and that I hadn't lost everything, it went back to the way it was when nothing was right. Just for a moment."

Re: Post Mission 2

Re: Post Mission 2

Nicolette took a long look at Shaw. That was a bit of a low blow, she felt…
"I'm the best you have," she said simply. It was the truth.

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Last Hero on Jan 9, 2007, 10:08am

There was the slightest smile on Shaw's lips, a devious one; he was enjoying the game a tad too much. "I'm not arguing your credentials, Ms. Savard. Your grades, your skills, your experience…by all rights, you should make a fine field leader. But there's a profound difference between what 'should be' and what 'is'."

Shaw held the resume up, giving it a quick scan before gently laying it back down. "I'm not going to strip you of your position of field leader, if that's what you're afraid of. However, I believe I need someone on the team to ensure that the Hellfire Club's best interests are followed. A representative to speak in my stead. To that end, I've taken the liberty of hiring Ms. Fall; one of the Club's recent acquisitions." He handed her the resume, filled with a long list impressive credentials. "Her job will be to watch your progress, analyze, advise you when necessary, and report back to me on the progress. She'll be my eyes, in a sense. She's more than capable of taking care of herself, so you needn't worry about any unneeded weight on the team. Are we clear?"

«Interesting.»

Meghan having gone to bed, I zipped back down to the Rec Room in hopes of alleviating some boredom. Hopefully there'd be some one down there who'd converse.

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Marisol "Solidity" Morales on Jan 9, 2007, 10:15am

Nicolette shrugged, not letting her annoyance show. She ran her eyes along the folder quickly, making sure to look a bit bored.

"More or less. Is she going to be watching me on missions only, or around the clock?"

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Last Hero on Jan 9, 2007, 10:22am

"Primarily on missions, though she'll have certain authority while you're on Club grounds. Mostly to keep you from destroying it." He nodded, obviously proud of whatever he did to find her. "You are to think of her as you would me, and treat her with similar respect."

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Kelly Alecia "Edenstar" Lisa on Jan 9, 2007, 10:24am

<Haha - similar respect…»

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Marisol "Solidity" Morales on Jan 9, 2007, 10:29am

Nicolette couldn't help her lips twisting into a slight grin.
"Surely not that much respect?" she asked with a touch of joviality. Of course, that wasn't a very good idea.

"On that regard, I have a little request," she said quickly, "Could you possibly have the surveillance equipment in my room removed? I'm sure you've already seen everything you ever would…" Technically, she probably wasn't supposed to know there even were cameras there. And she didn't… but she was certain there were.

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Last Hero on Jan 9, 2007, 10:51am

Shaw couldn't help but feel there was some mocking there, but her mention of the cameras snapped that right out. He'd put them in there solely for intelligence purposes - really - and had hoped his men did a good job of making the hidden cameras…well, hidden. Apparently, they had not, and this was a lawsuit waiting to happen. Best to handle it in a nonchalant manner. "I'll look into the matter." There you go.

Careful. Very careful. "I, personally, am not aware of any monitoring devices in your rooms; however, if such devices do exist, I will, of course, have them removed immediately." Again, well-handled. Shaw looked ready to pat himself on the back the moment Prime left.

[You know, as must as this might make him look like a perv…given the nature of some of the Hellions, I honestly can't say I blame him for wanting to keep constant tabs on them ]

"Let's not be thick, Kelly. Unless, of course, you can't help it."

I don't even turn towards her, I check out the fridge for something to eat. An apple. Delicious. I pick it out, wash it in the sink, and begin to eat.

"What's your problem, even? Why are you always like that?"

I turn back to Blind, still waiting for a responce from him, also.

Siamko frowns, apparently thinking.

"….only that it pays to stay informed. Some of us are less trustworthy than others, it would seem."

Without changing the direction of his glance, he smiles again.

"Hello, Mr. Livingston."

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Amelia "Heaven" Chow on Jan 9, 2007, 11:12am

"Problem? I don't have a problem."

I pause and take a bite of apple.

"Like WHAT, exactly?"

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Kelly Alecia "Edenstar" Lisa on Jan 9, 2007, 11:15am

Remaining confused at Blind's words, and unsure of how to respond, I answered Jay instead.

"Insulting. Rude. Mean. Thinking you're better than all of us."

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Amelia "Heaven" Chow on Jan 9, 2007, 11:18am

"Oh. Well, that's because I am better than all of you."

I take another bite of apple.

"Or it's because I have a desperate need to push people away, because inside the hard and unemotional exterior is a weak and scared kid, who has spent most of his life just not being good enough for what he's been told is his destiny."

I take another bite of apple.

"I prefer the 'better than all of you' reason."

"You'd do best to ignore him, Star." I'm still focusing on the footage, but I've heard enough of the conversation to get the gist. "I've seen attitude like his before. It's a common way to compensate for numerous shortcomings in other areas."

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Amelia "Heaven" Chow on Jan 9, 2007, 11:33am

"If that's what you'd like to believe, sure. But that sounds like transference, Wildfire. You're obviously focused on your own…shortcoming."

I gesture at the tape.

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Kelly Alecia "Edenstar" Lisa on Jan 9, 2007, 11:35am

“You’re doing it again. Being rude. And you’re mocking me when I’m trying to be serious with you. And you’re arrogance makes me sure that you are not any better than the rest of us. Why can’t you be more like Meghan or Wildfire or Nico? Even Blind’s polite. Do we need more dissent among ourselves? Especially after today…”

Then I catch Wildfire’s words.

“Thanks Wildfire. You’re probably right.”

And I hear Jay again, and strain to follow Wildfire’s advice.

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Amelia "Heaven" Chow on Jan 9, 2007, 11:39am

"Mocking you? Not really, no. And if I could be more like Meghan, I would. Well, in one way, at least."

I toss away the apple core.

"Look, we just come from different places. It's not exactly easy to put that all aside the second we get tossed into the same group. It's not that I really have anything against any of you, it's just that this…"

I gesture around briefly.

"…isn't exactly what I was expecting. It's not you. It's me. Actually, it goes beyond me, but I can't really get into it. For the reasons that Blind mentioned."

Satisfied, and happy, now that I got a civil response from him.

“Okay. I can respect that.”

Though I feel like I missed something in the Meghan comment. And about the last comment – it made me wonder. Were people here really that untrustworthy?

Nicolette snickered briefly, then looked at Shaw in a fairly conspiratorial manner.
"You know, it's funny, Mr. Shaw… If I was in your position, I'd do exactly the same thing…" Only better…
She leaned back in her seat and nonchalantly stared at a wall. It was true… If she was in his position, she'd have secret cameras installed as well. She just didn't want them in HER room…

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Amelia "Heaven" Chow on Jan 9, 2007, 11:51am

"Well, I'm glad we could come to an understanding. It's just…difficult. I'm not used to interacting with people with such different life experiences than me, in fact, it's been pretty much actively discouraged for much of my life. However, given the current situation, I would imagine that it's gotten to a point of acceptability. I'll make you a deal, Kelly. I'll take you to see my life, what I'm coming into here from. In return, you show me where you come from sometime in the future. I know a soiree going on this very evening, I'm sure I could find you something appropriate by the time we would need to attend."

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Last Hero on Jan 9, 2007, 11:53am

Even though Shaw didn't regret his decisions regarding Nicolette, he couldn't shake the feeling that there was a little more to the girl than she let on. Maybe not anything serious, but still…she was a tad sharper than he'd initially given credit. He'd have to pay extra heed to Ms. Fall's reports.

"Very well, then." Shaw finally gave up on the charade and eased back into his chair, reclining. "It will be taken care of, I promise. Now, if there's nothing else to discuss…"

Re: Post Mission 2

“Deal,” I replied happily. I knew there was a nice person beyond the façade. It’s good to see him.

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Amelia "Heaven" Chow on Jan 9, 2007, 11:55am

I smile briefly.

"We'll have to leave soon. Most of the best stores close early. Give me…twenty minutes, and I'll meet you by the front door."

I walk out.

Re: Post Mission 2

“Sure thing.”

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Last Hero on Jan 9, 2007, 12:00pm

[Damn it, I couldn't think of a snappy comeback! >_< The shame…]

As Ixnay walks out, I look towards Star, a bit worried. Ixnay's sudden change is jarring; I suppose it's not impossible that he would be that way underneath, but I can't help but be skeptical. Star is…innocent, that's the word. That can be taken advantage. "Star…be careful."

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Marisol "Solidity" Morales on Jan 9, 2007, 12:01pm

Nicolette smiled pleasantly and stood up.
"I don't believe there is," she said, "Have a nice day."

With that, she walked back outside. Having closed the door behind herself, she leaned on it briefly. She couldn't shake the feeling that Shinobi Shaw was a buffoon, and… she didn't like the idea of working for a buffoon. If she really was in his position, she'd do things a lot differently…

She took to the air again and hovered off towards the Recreational Room thoughtfully…

“Of what?” I asked, perplexed.

"…..he is using her, of course. Truly a parasite, that one."

Vasiliev smiles, gesturing to the hallway.

"And our glorious leader arrives. That is my cue."

He vanishes and is gone.

«I've moved into the general HFC board for the time twenty minutes from now.»

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Kelly Alecia "Edenstar" Lisa on Jan 9, 2007, 12:53pm

A bit disconcerted by the lack of a response and stymied by her statement, I asked again, “Be careful of what, Wildfire?”

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Last Hero on Jan 9, 2007, 1:01pm

"Be mindful of Ixnay's intentions." I'm delving into territory I have no direct experience with, I'm aware of that, but I'm completely ignorant, either. "He might want something you're not willing to give…just be sure to think things through completely."

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Kelly Alecia "Edenstar" Lisa on Jan 9, 2007, 1:12pm

I still don’t get what Wildfire means, and I let her know in so many words. “Don’t worry, though. I’m not going to do anything silly,” I added, smiling. “And even though I don’t get what you mean, I’m grateful.”

Re: Post Mission 2

Returning later on that night, after changing I headed to the Rec room, with what I’d been told weighing heavily on my mind. As soon as I found Blind, I went to him.

“Could you do me a favour? Would you mind ‘inspecting’ my room, Meg’s room and Jay’s room?”

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Wreck on Jan 10, 2007, 7:15pm

Blind stands against a wall, looking down silently.

"…..I inspect everything as a matter of habit. What exactly do you wish to know?"

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Kelly Alecia "Edenstar" Lisa on Jan 10, 2007, 7:20pm

Whispering so quietly that no-one could possibly hear, I continued, believing that Blind would understand me. "Any form of surveillance. And if you could disable it."

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Wreck on Jan 10, 2007, 7:24pm

Blind is again quiet for a moment. He would seem to be debating whether revealing such information would hasten the demise of the team……or whether keeping it a secret would simply be prolonging the inevitable.

Finally, he sighs.

"…..yes, you are of course being monitored. We all are."

A slight smile crosses his face.

"…..with two exceptions."

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Kelly Alecia "Edenstar" Lisa on Jan 10, 2007, 7:32pm

Jay's right.

"Who- who are they?" I waited before continuing.

"And is there anyway that they can be disabled?"

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Wreck on Jan 10, 2007, 7:36pm

"Myself, for I obviously do not enjoy being watched and took measures to prevent being watched. The other….our fearless leader, Nicolette. She requested that her cameras be removed, though I do not know if our benefactor granted it."

Blind smiles again.

"…..I could not help but notice that she did not request the removal of any such devices from your rooms."

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Kelly Alecia "Edenstar" Lisa on Jan 10, 2007, 7:41pm

Why would she do that without asking for the rest of ours to be removed?

"Thanks Blind," I smiled gratefully. "Do you know if there's any way to disable them?"

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Wreck on Jan 10, 2007, 7:47pm

"The same way you would remove most. Tear them from their sources."

He gestures up with a palm.

"I would assist with that, but drawing the wrath of Mr. Shaw is not high on my list of priorities. No, he must remain an ally for the time being….no matter how distasteful I find it."

And Blind smiles again, wanly.

"….besides, it would seem we have a mutual enemy within our midst."

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Kelly Alecia "Edenstar" Lisa on Jan 10, 2007, 7:52pm

What does he mean? Is now the right time for this? Would he even tell me if I asked? I don't think he would…

"Would I be able to disable it if I found it in the room?"

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Wreck on Jan 10, 2007, 7:56pm

"……you could. But he would notice immediately. And the only one who could have told you such information would be me, or…."

Blind suddenly smiles wickedly.

"…..or our fearless leader, Nicolette."

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Kelly Alecia "Edenstar" Lisa on Jan 10, 2007, 8:01pm

So I can't do anything?

"What's the likelihood that I could find it by accident? I mean, my powers stem from light. That's got to have some bearing on the cameras - Mr. Shaw can't know my powers properly - I don't know my powers properly. Couldn't I bluff that I found them on accident?"

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Wreck on Jan 10, 2007, 8:06pm

"…..perhaps, perhaps. I cannot assist you with this endeavor, however. You must figure out the rest on your own, lest a demon overstep his bounds."

Blind raises his head abruptly, staring at Kelly with closed eyes.

"…..I will tell you this much, though. Our leader is not to be trusted."

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Kelly Alecia "Edenstar" Lisa on Jan 10, 2007, 8:11pm

Nico can't be trusted? Why?

"What do you mean?"

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Wreck on Jan 10, 2007, 8:22pm

"…..she is a snake. She lives only for her own gain, and every word she speaks is a lie to that end."

Turning away, Siamko chuckles, though in his whispering voice, it sounds strange and wheezing.

"Ordinarily, I would find such a purely evil creature fascinating. But she means to be rid of me, and in doing that, she has crossed me. For that, she cannot be allowed to continue her games."

He laughs again softly.

"…..one cannot help but pity poor Meghan, eh? She will never be swayed from the viper. Too bitten by sweet poison."

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Kelly Alecia "Edenstar" Lisa on Jan 10, 2007, 8:31pm

I am so confused.

"How do you know all this?"

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Wreck on Jan 10, 2007, 8:38pm

Another slight smile.

"…..because I see all, and while I may not know all, it is my lifelong ambition to change that as much as one might."

Vasiliev shakes his head, looking on.

"I must be going. But I will leave you with this piece of advice….be careful of who you trust."

He vanishes. But his voice whispers once more from nowhere and everywhere.

"…..and who you don't."

Re: Post Mission 2
Post by Kelly Alecia "Edenstar" Lisa on Jan 10, 2007, 8:40pm

Another person telling me to be careful who I trust. I should thank him again but he's gone before I can. This whole place has left me so confused…

What did he mean by who I don't trust?
