Mission 3 - And You Had A Really Bad Day…
Post by Last Hero on Jan 22, 2007, 10:56am

"You know, dear, if you keep this up, people will start to think you're demented."

Typically, Carmen tries to keep her hired help at an emotional distance. Arcade is an exception. "People already think I'm demented." She makes her way back into the control where Shinobi and Arcade wait, watching as the Hellions start to stir back into consciousness, awakening in their tailor-made deathtraps. "Did I miss anything?"

"Oh, no, no, no. You're just in time for the real fun to start." Arcade's voice almost turns to a squeal, eyes fixed on the screens. "I do wish you both would've given me some advance warning with this, though. I had to set up things in such a hurry…planning is key with this, you know. Very key."

Shaw shakes his head, yawning. It's been a long night, to put it mildly. "It couldn't be helped. I'd figured there might be more spies about when we found Tessa, but I never imagined one of them would be in the Hellions…I suppose I should've seen it. Never imagined those brats had so much gall. Those filthy X-Men are likely crawling over the Club by now."

Carmen sits besides him, taking her place between the two associates. "I know, I know. But it's best to control our losses here. The Club can always be retaken."

"Yes, yes…and I must say, I think I'm going thoroughly enjoy watching them die here."

Arcade claps, really getting into the spirit of things. "That's the way! Enjoy the show." He holds out a box of popcorn. "Want some?" Carmen accepts. Shaw refuses. "Now, let me show you some of the attractions…

[Similar deal as last time, with 100% more Hellions goodness! And less babies. Report in, and I'll hook you up with your scenario.]

-Nicolette's Situation-

Nicolette awakens to find herself in the middle of a boxing ring, cheers coming from all directions…though it seems like the arena is empty for the most part. She starts to stand, but finds that it's a bit harder than it should be; there's some sort of extra gravitational pull keeping her down. But it doesn't seem to be affecting her opponent in the other ring: The shame of France, the world's most blatant stereotype, BATROC THE LEAPER.

Sorry. The GM likes Batroc.

"Ah, mon amour, you are falling weak in ze knees at ze site of Batroc! Ha! Do not fear, such is ze fate of all women who lay sight on my très formidable…eh, form! But, in order to escape zis ring and rejoin with your friends, you must face ze Sovereign of the Seine, ze Boss of the Bastille, none other than moi! Are you prepared to meet your maker, mon amour?"

-Erebus' Situation-

Ooo, I was hoping you'd show up Eternal. I got something special for you.

Erebus finds himself within the Darkforce…but he didn't bring himself there. He was dragged there by another being, someone with powers similar to himself…Dusk? No, no, this being was vastly more powerful, vastly more skilled.

"Greetings." Nexus appears above Erebus, descending and facing off, wraith to wraith. "Carmen told me that you were quite…special, yes. Far too powerful to be held by Arcade's simple tricks. She was quite convinced I could give you more of a challenge. Tell me, was she right?"

Ixnay wakes up in his own bed back at the Mansion, completely unharmed…but there's something going on, definitely. Instead of waking up next to a hot lesbian, he finds himself staring at Wolverine. That's got to be a downer.

"Hey. Kid. Get up."

For a good long while, Nicolette stood on one knee and assessed the environment. After summarizing the situation in her head neatly, considering that the last thing she remembered was going to bed, and excluding the possibility that this was a dream, there was only one possible option. Shinobi Shaw was one moronic son of a bitch, and she would… She didn't finish the thought.

She didn't consider herself paranoid, but she was sure that there were cameras around… once again. She thought about speaking out loud to them trying to piss the viewers off a little, but decided against it. For the moment…

"Can't we solve this peacefully?" she asked the fake Batroc lightly, while dragging herself to stand up straight. "After all… There are so many other things we could do besides fighting…"

She doubted it was the real thing. Was it a hologram? A robot? She didn't have much faith in breaking it's programming, so she was ready to evade his oncoming attacks. As well as she could, anyway…

"Get up and take a look for yourself." Wolverine points one of his claws to the door as Jean Grey floats by, a horde of goons floating behind her. «Nice. I had wondered, after reading your fic, if there was going to be any particular reason Erebus couldn't just leave Arcade's traps. Needless to say, I'm satisfied.»

Erebus looks the new arrival up and down, with his face looking as amused as ever. Maybe even slightly more so. "You know, I hear things through the darkness. Little whispers, here and there. Usually random things of little consequence. A person winds up in the Darkforce and his soul gets ebbed away to nothing, that sort of thing. One of the more interesting of these accounts is a poor schmuck who lands here and has his flesh fed on instead, and rises up to be something more… much more."

The grin never leaves his face. "Will she be right? Can you provide more of a challenge? You're going to have to show me. Though I must say, before any of this begins, thank you. Why? Because I never get to say this to normal humans, because I'm not a cannibal, even though I've always wanted to:

I'm going to eat you."

The darkness warps and takes form, and none other than the legendary three Avengers appears out of the murk…Thor, Iron Man, Captain America. But they're warped versions, skin degraded, metal rusted, hungering for flesh.

"Yes. I am going to enjoy this."

"A real man wouldn't hit a lady…" said Nicolette quietly, narrowing her eyes and rubbing her chin slightly.

Of course, she was at a disadvantage here. He was faster. Trying to catch him would be tiring as well as pointless… and it would make her look like a fool, so she wasn't even going to try. He was going to come to her anyway. She settled in an uncomfortable fighting stance with her hands held up quite high, and waited for another attack. She still had enhanced reflexes, and a quite good plan. The second he'd try to kick her again, she would grab his foot as firmly as she could, and smash him into the floor face-first… in theory. An important part was maintaining hold of him after that.
Of course, there was the possibility of Batroc going for a low hit, where she couldn't catch him. In that case, she would just try to punch him in the face.

Erebus grins. "If this is how want to play it…" He begins to rise into the air. Here, in his place of power, he doesn't even need a construct to do it. The darkness of the realm begins to warp around him en masse, first looking like large clumps of darkness attaching themselves to a smaller form, but as more shadows appear it starts to take form. The dark construct, with Erebus at its center, reaches out an roars as it completes itself.

"Since you're using Avengers I thought it was only appropriate to go with one of their foes."

The large shadowy claw of Fin Fang Foom descends upon the warped facsimiles of heroes.

-Kelly and Meghan's Situation-

Kelly finds herself facing the last person she'd want to face: Meghan.

The other girl is still asleep, but they're both being suspended from the ceiling of a room that appears to be some sort of dungeon…a really cliched, lame one. Kelly is bound by weird chains that seem to be made out of a sort of…hard darkness, and Meghan is bounded by chains that seem to be made out of light.

Batroc goes for a high kick; after all, he wouldn't be much of a Leaper if he went for a low blow. Nicolette's speak kicks in and she manages to slam him down as planned.

"Zut alors!"

Batroc is a wiry devil, though, and he squirms around, kicking her again in the face as he rolls away, laughing in a stereotypical French was as he goes. "Vive le resistance!"

Nexus' face is no longer visible, but if it was, there'd surely be a smile.

The Avenger's disperse as Erebus Fang Foom's mighty claw comes down, and Thor takes the leads, staggering the beast with a blow from Mjolnir. It's not the real thing, no, but it does the job, and Captain America and Iron back him, pelting Erebus Fang Foom from a distance.

Post by Alexander "Cadmus" Baptiste on Jan 22, 2007, 12:27pm

As Erebus Fang Foom takes swipes at Thor while they battle up close, his mind wanders to the annoyance of the Iron Man and Captain America dopplegangers. Erebus himself was fairly safe and sound inside the Fing Fang Foom creation, but allowing the team up effort to be used against him was bound to screw him over eventually. Luckily his ego never drove him to do wacky things such as "fight with honor." It was time for a little bit of creative sportsmanship.

They rose from the ground. Over and over again. Zemo. Both the Heinrich and Helmut variety. Well over a dozen of them burst from the darkness and mob Captain America. There was a short pause during which, Erebus Fang Foom was fighting Thor, the Zemo's were fighting Captain America, but Iron Man was not himself specifically occupied. Erebus never really kept track of Iron Man villains, other than Foom who he was already using. So something else. Ultron. Yes, that would do. It bubbled into existence out of the darkness and makes a beeline for Iron Man. Only one of him, but built far more impressively than the Zemos.

As for Thor, he was moving too quickly to tag like this, so Erebus goes for another bit of creative sportsmanship. Extra appendages begin to emerge from Foom, all swinging in concert but at different spots making it difficult to dodge one claw without running into another.

Nicolette took several steps back.
"You know, I believe it was General de Gaulle who said: 'It is better to have a bad method than to have none.' Just an FYI. Think about it."

The second he opened his big mouth to reply (like the idiot probably would), she planned on charging him. She'd try to block the kicks, but she mostly counted on pressing through them and breaking his nose.

Re: Mission 3 - And You Had A Really Bad Day…
Post by Last Hero on Jan 22, 2007, 1:16pm

Bringing up a horde of undead WWII soldiers would typically be in bad taste. Unfortunately, Nexus doesn't care about taste.

The soldiers rise up from the darkness; decrepit, decaying warriors that swarm to Cap's side, fighting off the Zemo's and evening the odds. Iron Man engages Ultron, forcing Erebus to instantly update his armor to the modern day model, allowing the two metal men to battle evenly in the sky.

Thor is the main prize, however; he throws his hammer straight into Erebus Fang Foom's belly and Erebus can't help but feel the impact. "Lo, the dark beast holds a darker beast within!" Thor catches his hammer on the return trip and flies high, going for another toss. "I shall pluck out this dark heart, as surely as I am the son of Odin!"

[Let me update Nicolette, Erebus, and Ixnay and then I'll bring Masstress, Naga, and Tangle in.]

Batroc moves fast, dodging behind her and grabbing her in a bear hold, locking it tight. Between his abnormal strength and the gravity pull, it's an effective hold, and he begins to squeeze…

Re: Mission 3 - And You Had A Really Bad Day…
Post by Alexander "Cadmus" Baptiste on Jan 22, 2007, 2:02pm

Unpleasant.

The Fin Fang Foom creation ate the majority of the impact from the Mjolnir simulacrum, but Erebus was still able to feel it. This was turning into an excercise in escalation - fine by him. But Erebus began to feel like skipping a few intermediary steps and going for pure visual excellence. First things first, back to being outnumbered.

The Zemos melt into their component shadows and then Ultron follows suit. The darkness they were composed of flows towards Erebus Fang Foom and merges with him, along with even more ambiant darkness. The beauty of the Darkforce Dimension… a near infinite power supply. Granted, that meant the same for Nexus, but Erebus had plans for counterbalancing that. That was later though. Now the darkness was converging on Erebus Fang Foom who no longer looked much like Fing Fang Foom at all. A mountain formed (relatively smaller than a real one, but a mountain all the same) at the construct's base and from the top of it emerged a winged monstrosity. As the wings spread Chernabog's wicked grin and horned head were made visble.

"I loved the Night on Bald Mountain segment of Fantasia. How did you feel about it?"

Swatting at Thor before turning his attention to Captain America and the undead soldiers, he adds "How long before I'm graced with your own presence, you snivelling lackey?"

«Have to leave for the time being. Gotta bus to school . Should be back later on though.»

Nicolette didn't hesitate to pounce Batroc while he was vulnerable.
First she gave him a kick of her own, right in the back of his knee and as hard as the circumstances allowed her to. It seemed a prudent target for someone who relied so much on his legs.
She proceeded to jump on him, and tried to drag him down with her weight, slinging punches at him all the while.

[Nice move, Eternal. I'm a big fan of that scene.]

"Modest Mussorgsky, eh? I am fan."

Captain America, Thor, Iron Man and the undead army all swirl back into nothing, leaving Nexus' voice as his only trace. "I'll give you credit, boy, you've got imagination. I'll even grant that, between us, you are the more powerful. Slightly. And I do applaud you methods. But, ultimately…there is something to be said for experience."

A piercing scream echoes through the darkness, the scream of a leviathan in the night. Erebus monstrous form suddenly finds itself sinking, as dark waters appear beneath him. From murky abyss, none other than the King of Monsters himself arises, facing down Chernabog with blazing eyes and a steaming mouth: Godzilla.

"I do love the classics." The two beasts face off, fairly even in height…but in power? Only one way to find out.

Tangle's tendrils recoil away from that spot. He starts to intensify his searching in other directions. He also starts to twist his own body around trying to see if there is any give in the spider's tangles.

Nicolette was shocked, but didn't let the surprise show. She pushed him down on his chest and straddled his back, using her knees to keep his hands down. At the same time, she held her hands on his neck, and pressed just enough to hurt…

"What pills do you mean?" she asked softly.

"Kelly, Kelly, Kelly, Kelly…this is no dream." A screen comes down between them, and Arcade's smiling face is shown, bowtie and all. "Hello, hello, my name is Arcade, and well…this is just a little idea of mine. Something to pass the time while you stay in Murder World.Did you ever see that movie, Saw? Bad acting, but I loved the concept. Basically, only one of you is getting out of here alive…if Meghan tries her very, very best, she can break free…but poor whittle Kelly dies. If Kelly tries her hardest, she's sure to get out…but not with Meghan. Sooooooooooooooo…you guys have fun deciding! And do be quick, I'm running out of popcorn."

The screen goes away, leaving the two alone.

Does a subconscious allow you to acknowledge a dream whilst in it? I don’t think so. There’s no explanation about where I am, or how I got here. This must be a dream. Except, of course, then Meghan wouldn’t be here. That means this is definitely a nightmare. Although, the darkness still isn’t surrounding us.

“Oh, no, don’t worry about it. I’m fine. Break out.”

"Oh, hi Blind! I'd ask what you're doing here, but how can someone know why they've been dreamed of? But you're confusing even in dreams," I replied with a smile. "What do you mean?

without much time to think, Jesse finds herself in (apparently) mortal danger. Nearly getting pelted with these exploding engines of destruction, she realizes she doesn't really have much of a choice as far as options go, what with the other kids having seemingly endless balls (heh).

She thinks up options.

She can't think of any good ones.

So instead of thinking up something intelligent, Jesse takes away as much of her own mass as possible, and runs as fast as she can to one side the gym in the hopes that she can use crossfire to take out the majority of her attackers.

Dumb luck is on Masstress' side.

She run willy nilly - yes, willy nilly, through the onslaught of deadly dodgeballs, and since these are little kids and not, say, snipers, they do mostly end up hitting each other, exploding and breaking apart like the robots they are.

"New game!" The PE teacher whistles and they all drops they're balls on cue. "Wrestling!"

The remaining kids (about half of the originals) charge at Masstress all at once.

This, she was not prepared for.

"Ack!"

She contemplates weighing down the ceiling and crushing everything in the vicinity, but with no handy escape points this would call for bad times. Still, it would give her an easy out from all the drama back at the mansion…

Still moving inhumanly fast for someone her size, Jesse decides to do something she's wanted to do for years and tackles the PE teacher. She moves with as much speed as she can muster, then jumps. In the air, she concentrates and adds as much mass to herself as she can in such a short amount of time. Whether it succeeds or not is entirely up to the gym teacher.

Nicolette felt the gravity return to normal levels. It felt great. She lifted into the air right away - not only did she like it, it was also practical for the situation.
She made a point of raising her chin and flashing a smile. It was a sort of message to Shaw.

"Oh, Bliiiind," she called out, starting to float down the corridor at walking-pace at the same time. This seemed like another thing that was worth a try.

-Kidd's Situation-

Kidd, who had been visiting the Club and got caught up in the mess, wakes up on what appears to be some kind of strange planet…there are weird, bulbous trees everywhere, she's on an island that's surround by many small mountains jutting up from the water, and the sky is an odd green color.

"You!" She turns around to see a man floating above her. A man with black, pineapple hair. A man in an orange gi, with the Japanese symbol for 'rabbit' on his chest. "My name is Gaku! What are you doing on Names? You're not another one of Freezak's men, are you?"

For the moment.

The kids surround, looking ready to pounce and rip her apart…but they don't. "Teacher!" They start to swarm over her, hugs all around. "You're our new teacher!"

The group make their way down the corridor, and finally come upon the source of the moaning: There's a room at the end of the hallway, with all sorts of medical tools and bric-a-brac. There's not too much of it here; it looks like this room was, up until recently, used for something else. But the tools that are present look quite new and complex.

And Wildfire lays in the middle of it, strapped onto a table in the center of the room. She's breathing, she's alive, but she's barely conscious. Bruises all over her body, and there's a rather fresh scar on her forehead…

Naga struggles against the upcoming wave of smurfs, flinging them off. She has trouble reaching for her knife, but somehow manages it. Some idiot forgot to disarm her. Hopefully they'd pay for their mistake. Flinging the smurfs on her as far as she can, she finally reaches for Papa Smurf, and grabs him as tight as possible, holding her knife an inch from his tiny throat.

"Back off, all of you. Unless you want to find out what color he bleeds." She hopes that by taking their leader, they'll back off. If not…hopefully they'll back off.

Sound energy. Right.

Gaku gets knocked back by the blast, slamming into a nearby moutain and causing it to crumble…which is odd, Sailor Mars…I mean, Kidd didn't hit him that. He of course waits for the dust to settle and reveal that he's standing unharmed in the rubble before he attacks. Gaku goes into a classic fighting pose and prepares a classic attack. "KAMEHAME…"

Charging.

Charging.

Still charging.

"…HA!" The blue turtle waves comes straight at Kidd, threatening to mow her down.

Naga tightens her grip, pricking Papa Smurf's neck with her thumbnail, and secreting in a mild sedative, hoping for a similar effect to sodium penethol—truth serum. "Now, tell me how to get out of here before I lose my temper."

It's actually not much of a trap at all, even though Blind and Nicolette are sharp to think so. After a moment, a rather tall Latino woman walks through the same doors they came in through, with a can of Pepsi in her hand. She's wearing a lab coat, though it's not entirely spotless and white; there are a few black splotches all over, like oil. Wildfire has the same liquid around most of her wounds…blood.

"Oh. Hello." She sips her Pepsi, only seeming mildly surprised to see the group. "I really should talk to Arcade about the way he designs this place…"

The spider comes in closer for a bite, and Tangle promptly shocks him, causing him to leap back in surprise. All the movement causes the web to break apart, and Tangle and the spider fall to the hard, metallic floor ten feet below, landing with a soft thud and a hard crash.

"Oh, damn it!" The spider thrashes about, trying to get off his back and right himself. "Now look what you made me do! Just for that, I'm going to lay eggs in your belly!"

Arcade is smart, but he is nowhere near smart enough to genetically engineer smurfs; when Naga pricks Papa Smurf, she finds out that he's just a little robot. "We would've told you if you'd been nice, but you had to be a smurfing bitch! Serves you right!"

"Anyway, if you really want to know what I did, pay a little attention to your friend. Doesn't it strike you as being a little odd that she didn't burn herself out of those straps?"

The group turns to Wildfire and sees that she's not even paying much attention to the conversation. She's just staring at her hand, concentrating, as if she wants them to explode before…but nothing's happening. "My fire…I can't. It's not coming. Why won't it-"

"She was always whining about not being able to control her power." She brought out a small bottle, with a soapy liquid inside. "I made it an non-issue. I'd really just planned to sample some of the stimulant her brain recieves, and I succeeded, but I thought I'd do her a favor while I was at it. Maybe she'll thank me when she stops mumbling, I don't know."

They're robots, which means they must have specific programming. She might not know what it is, but maybe she can find a certain program to exploit. She gently lowers the little smurf to the ground and smiles. "Sorry about that, I just woke up and didn't know where I was, so I was cranky." Hopefully they're not sophisticated enough to notice that such a sudden shift in tone isn't entirely believable. "So…how about you show me the way out? Smurf village is just for smurfs, isn't it?"

Tangle can feel all the various circuits and stuff within the spider; intricate hardware that probably doesn't take well to being messed around with…but if Tangle's going to do something, he should be quick about it; the spider's getting dangerously close to becoming upright.

~*~

"Yeah, we typically don't let tramps like you in." That would be Jackass Smurf, speaking his mind. "You want to get out, fine!" He points to a tree. The only tree in the whole meadow. "There's a door on other side of that tree. Just go through it and you're out."

[Sorry I couldn't give you more, but Arcade primarily uses robots, and, well, Naga's not much good for that.]

Star starts to recover as Nicolette and Meghan engage.

Nicolette's attack don't seem to do much; they're knocking her around, true, but that's more because of Carmen's low mass than anything - she's doesn't look the least bit hurt. Carmen is fast, but she's nowhere near as fast as Nicolette; she takes a few swings at Nicolette, but gets nothing but air.

So she switches targets. She runs over to Meghan, weaving around her blasts and closing the distance before she has a chance to react and moving behind. "Where do you get off calling me a whore, anyway? Coming from you…" She wraps an arm around Meghan's neck, threatening to pop it clean off in the next second.

Carmen meets Kelly head on; the blinding light keeps her from scoring a direct hit, and the field makes the indirect hit she scores quite weak. Carmen manages to hit Kelly with a glancing blow to the chest; it puts some major strain on the field, but it doesn't get through.

Naga rushes towards the sound of battle, and spies her fellow Hellions in battle. She rushes in with the rest of the Teen Girl Squad, and puts on her 'battle face,' an emotionless, dispassionate visage, except for a tiny condesending upward turn of her red lips. She lunges behind Carmen, bringing her knife across her back before rolling a few yards away—hopefully making a large scrape, so it'll be easier to grab on to later so she can hit her with a nice toxin.

"Slightly?" the demon speaks as black flames begin to emerge from the open peak of the mountain in which it stands. Not real fire of course, but it looks, moves and has the consistency of it. It's mostly for show. From the faux-fire an assortment of lesser demons and wraiths emerge and begin to buzz around Godzilla, mostly for annoyance and distraction. "I'm the closest thing this dimension has to a god." Chernabog-Erebus smiles that wicked smile of his as it emerges from it's mountain and plunges its beheamoth fist into the King of Monster's mouth.

"I suppose we all need our atheists, though."

Tangle's efforts work; the spider-bot makes a screeching, weezing noises, and spark fly out of his mouth. Not moving. Looks dead.

~*~

The blow to the back of the head from Nicolette seems to actually a little bit; Carmen seems dazed, and she stumbles forward. Unfortunately, she regains her senses quick enough to shrug off Meghan before she can get pulled into the Darkforce. Naga's surprise attack does manage to surprise Carmen, but her skin is way too tough to be pierced by a regular knife - it breaks on contact.

The only really effective attack comes from Star, and it is really effective; Star's best shot sends Carmen flying out of the room, through one wall, through another wall, through another wall after that…they can hear a scream in the distance, so it doesn't look like the fight is over, but they've bought some time.

She sticks her finger in Wildfire's mouth, proving once again all the Hellions love female homoeroticism, and secretes a mild anesthetic, enough to numb her completely. She glances at Prime and says, "I'll probably only have one shot at getting my hands on her, so I hope you're strong enough to hold her down for a while. The two of you," indicating Dusk and Star, "Should try to herd her into her grasp. Hopefully I have toxin stored up to slow her down enough for one of you to get a coup de grace in." No offense to Erebus, but putting your fist into Godzilla's mouth is about the worst thing you can do. A plume of black energy erupts from Godzilla's maw, burning Chernabog's hand into nothingness. "A god, you say? Don't be so naive. At the end of the day, for all your sound and fury, you are a mutant with the power to control the Darkforce. You're skilled, as I said, but your powers can be duplicated and imitated, perhaps even surpassed by your offspring. The only thing that separates you from being a normal, pathetic human is a single gene."

"But the Darkforce lives in me. I run through me. Shares all it's secrets. Becomes me. I am the Darkforce. In the end, I own this place - you simply pay rent."

NexusZilla charges into Chernabog and the two go tumbling, wrestling over the darkened waters, fighting for dominance.

Chernabog wears one of his less amused faces as he struggles with NexusZilla over the waters, while inside Erebus is somewhere between his typical joviality and his faraway solemnity. "That. That right there. The Darkforce ate you alive and made a wraith out of you. Me? It retrofitted me. Made me suitable - worthy - to control it. The darkness rules you. I rule it. And when I'm through with you, there will be none left to contest my dominance here." Erebus figured the next part ought to be easy enough to execute, though the result was bound to be surprising since he had never done it to somebody without a real physical form before.

"You are the Darkforce? Perhaps. I imagine that your lack of substance beyond that will make what follows very interesting." He needed contact for what came next which was easily enough provided by NexusZilla when he rushed Chernabog-Erebus. As the behemoths struggle with each other, Erebus continues. "You see, typically when I do this it is to a person with a physical form of which the soul is but one part. But when the person is all soul. What an expiriment, indeed."

Grappling with NexusZilla, using the massive span of his wings to make his grip even tighter, Erebus begins to exert his will on Nexus' soul. Typically he adds darkness to an individual, but today he broke away from the norm. As he drains all traces of darkness from Nexus' soul he wonders what happens to a soul consisting of darkness when all the darkness is gone.

"I'll do my best not to dissapoint," Naga says prissly.

Kidd's attack works; Gaku lights up in an odd, blueish color, and the energy rips through his body, making his hair even more spikey than usual. He falls down, unconscious, mumbling to himself. "Her power level…so terrible…."

[Sorry about that. With my internet being so slow, going back to check on things is a pain.]

A door appears in the darkness, showing him the way out.

"I thought you would," said Prime seriously, and then broke into a smile, "Everything will work out."

«And it's time for me to go to bed.»

"And with that, Shōjo manga has asserted it's dominance over shōnen manga!"

Now if only I knew where I was and how to get back home.

"Star…Nicolette…" Wildfire whispers, not even sure her words will reach. "I'm sorry."

[Action wise, we're pretty much done for the day, though, since Erebus and Nexus are so far apart from everyone else and the outcome of that battle won't affect the main stuff, I think I might keep that up a little. You can talk with Wildfire a bit if you (though I'm leaving for a minutes to get dinner now, so…) But tomorrow, things really get ugly…]

"Sorry? Wild… you're delirious. You have nothing you should be sorry for. We'll make this right, I promise," I told her, clasping onto her hand.

Blind finally reappears. The illusion seems a bit more coherent this time.

"……apologies. Had to get a bit closer."

He looks down to Wildfire.

"Ms. Izabella. It is good to see you again, even if the circumstances are wanting."

[What the…now it starts working fine. >_<]

"It's good to see you two…I'm just sorry this happened. I'm useless now…" She tries to raise her hand and generate a flame, but…nothing.

I looked at Wildfire with a sad smile.

“Never. You hear me? Never. You will never be useless. Not to me. I need you around, Wild. I’ll make this right. I promise. You are not useless.”

A tear or two dropped down onto Wildfire as I knelt over her, the tears running down my face.

"If you're like to stop sniveling, we have a very powerful and very pissed off enemy incoming."
