"Dinosaurs Are Forever"
In ancient times, the Malkuans created the Rings of Power. Then the Dark Lord Mandarin conquered the powers of the 10 Rings. But the Ring of Matter Rearranging was stolen, and for a long time, he thought it to be lost. Many years later, the Ring came to the dinosaur man, Karl Lykos. In a land called the Outback, Generation X is tasked to destroy the Ring. Now Generation X must take a journey across The Savage Land, and throw the Ring into the fires of the Sun god, Garokk, the only place it can be destroyed.

There are three unmarked black helicopters floating over the Antarctic Ocean. All of Generation X is huddled tight in the Easternmost chopper, as the chill air permeates the helicopters. Black Air Agent Monica Lestrange leans near the cockpit, deep in thought.
The team has been briefed. They are to locate Sauron and Stegron, discern the location of the Mandarin's Ring, rendezvous with the extraction helicopters near the city of the Sun People, lying at the base of a large volcano.
The obvious place to look for Sauron would be in the hiding place of his old cronies, The Mutates.
The air warms, and the team hasn't even noticed they've cleared a rocky ridge and entered a lush valley, swamped in fog. Pteranodons can be seen winging in the horizon, and the team notices an apatosaurus herd near a river.
Here there be dinosaurs.
The three helicopters hover momentarily, and the Westernmost helicopter veers off back towards the arctic.
A green light near the door flips on, and Lestrange slides the door open, rolling a long roped ladder down the side as the helicopter descends to tree level.
Lestrange looks at the squad. She points at Wildfire, "Alright, Summers told me you're their field leader, but here, you report to me. Everyone else," and she looks at Generation X, "I know you don't like me, but I'd advise listening to your scarlet superior over there. I don't know if carnivores here like ketchup, but I assure you you're crunchy, in the least."
She looks down out the door one last time. "Alright, you lot. Down the ladder."
And Lestrange leans back and falls out of the door.

Climbing is for saps, I simply drop from the copter and make a port down into the trees, rest a bit, and then go the rest of the way down.

Polarity forgoes the ladder and leaps out of the chopper, repelling the ground when he reaches it and squats down on the ground, Spider-man style.

I don't think I like that Lestrange woman.
In my old days I would've followed her orders automatically, without question - she is my superior, after all. Now, though, and given the situation, I'm a little more hesitant. After all, she's already demonstrated she doesn't care how dangerous the situation she places us in. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if she put us in a position for sacrifice…she's one to keep an eye on.
But, to business.
I fall out the door myself and descend down the ladder. "Dan, I want you to stay alert as possible here. We'll try to avoid contact with dinosaurs if at all possible, but in case it's unavoidable, they should retreat from fire like most animals. Be ready."

I reach the ground, vaguely wondering why everyone seems so abject to just using the ladder, and form a shotgun in my hand - I don't like the inaccuracy, but the up-close stopping power suits me for this mission. I'll be fine for friendly fire with some discretion.

Lestrange has formed two small craters where she lands, and she dusts off her suit.
"We're being watched," she says to Wild. "Can you feel it?"
She pulls out some binoculars and sweeps the brush immediately to their right.
No sooner than she says this than a pack of large dire wolves leaps out of the clearing, as if by command.
Lestrange looks back at Gen X. "Those are prehistoric, for your benefit. Eight feet long and about half as high. Now would be a good time for a plan."
The wolves begin circling the group, and there's clearly more than pack mentality at work.
The wolves charge, and everyone feels very, very dizzy.

Ground's spinning, can almost feel vomit rising up from my belly. In a haze I teleport up towards the chopper, but not to help Nephy. Need to get away from these things.

Marcus lets himself fall on the ground. After Daniel creates the wall of fire, Marcus let's his own plasma fence dissolve as well. He starts concentrating. He creates a ball of plasma and fires it, controlling it's direction to hit the wolves that move close.

The wolves lunge, perplexed by the fence, but something makes it over.
It's a large frog-like man. He lunges at Lestrange, and swiftly uppercuts him away, and he sprawls at Wildfire's feet.
"Mutates. Explains the wolves and dizzyness."
There's flute music playing now, and a large dire bear entires the landing zone, charging at the group.

Sir Nathaniel isn't seriously wounded from his fall, although landing on his sheath didn't help.
Marcus's fireball lands directly on a wolve's snout, searing it's face. It yelps, and the other wolves rear up and leap the fence.
The Dire Bear has also reached the fence, gauging it carefully.
The frogman leaps to his feet and pushes Wildfire to the ground.

Marcus creates earplugs using his constructs, hoping that it'll help. If it does he could make more for the group. He creates a larger plasma ball and fires it at the frog, guiding it to hit.

Sara can't take it anymore as she almost rips her goggles off to try and get any pressure off of her head.

Sara catches sight of Wild getting knocked down.
"WILD!"
Sara charges at the frogman and jumps before she gets to him, attempting to hit him with a high speed kick to the back of the head.

He uses it to create a shield above for the wolves adding more plasma.

Before Marcus' construct can reach his ears, Polarity takes note of the direction the flute is coming from. He leaps off intending to find whoever's creating it and deliver a swift knee to the groin of anyone he finds.

Dillan teleports above the group, but out of the fence. He lands behind the bear, who doesn't notice him. Yet.
Wild manages to force the frog man away, right into Sara's knee.
Polarity repels straight into the Piper, knocking him the the ground.
The bear's control severed, it turns around and steps on Dillan's leg. It's not happy to see him.

The Piper knocked out, there's a sudden roar and a huge four armed man grapples Polarity. His four arms help fight Polarity's skid-field, better than a two armed attack, and as he pins him with three arms, he backhands Polarity hard in the mouth.
The wolves have suddenly backed off, retreating to the perimiter of the clearing.

Putting her differences aside Hype charges in and attempts to take him out at the knees with a high speed kick to the back of them.

I leap at the bear and grab a hold of it's fur. As sick I still feel, as tired as I am, I attempt to make a teleport. Worst case scenario for me is that I only go a few inches. Worst cast scenario for him? I take his fur and skin with me.

The wolves are leaving - that's the most hectic threat taken care of. I see Marcus and Dillan taking care of the bear, but Polarity is having some trouble. " Dan, see if you can scare the bear away, Hype and I'll help out Polarity."
I run after Hype, trying to get in close and deliver a shot once he's clear.

Marcus singes the Dire Bears fur, and the bear runs off, free from Piper's control. There are forest fires to prevent, and picnic baskets to steal; screw these kids.
Wildfire's shot knocks the amphibian man up into the air, and he lands, a red and green blur. It's unclear if he's dead, but he ain't getting up.
"Regroup!" Lestrange cries. "I wasn't expecting this," she mutters to herself.

Hype connects with Barbarus, knocking them all to the ground. Disoriented from the constant nausea affect, Hype is unable to prevent a huge orange hand from picking her up, and kicks the Polarity and Barbarus tangle to the side.
"Ssssstegron ssssmasshhh!" he bellows.
"Oh shit," Lestrange says, running towards Stegron.

Stegron is immediately struck by Dan's arrow, though it doesn't go too deep.
He bellows, and Lestrange flashes under his upstretched arms, uppercutting him. He stumbles back into Nephy's bloody dodgeball.
"What issss thisss?" he hisses, now drenched in blood. He swats Lestrange away with his tail, and shakes his head.
"They…they've left me…Basssstardssssss!" clearly referring to the unseen Mutates.
He ducks down and charges at Dillan, catching him mid-leg-dive and scooping him up into the air, like a volleyball serve.

Sara gets in front of the target and starts trying to get his attention, she's got the idea to give him a hard to reach moving target by moving as soon as he lunges for her, hoping that someone else can capitalize.

I ignore Dillan's comment - honestly, Lord of the Rings is the only instance of me liking a movie adaption more than the book it came from. "Sara, when the battle starts, I want to focus on using your speed to take Sauron's ring off, okay? Once that's done, things should get easier."

The ground is marshy, then soon gives way to a dry slate grey, and soon it's a charred black, with tiny veins of lava flowing beneath layers of soot and glass.
There is ash blowing in the air.
Lestrange keeps pace with Wildfire, but turns to Marcus.
"You asked earlier about the ring. Short story is there are ten rings that once powered a Makluan hyper drive. A power mad despot by the name of Mandarin found a use for them, ten different uses in fact."
She helps the team over a particularly steep ridge, one by one.
"Anyway the ring stolen is the ring of Matter Rearranging. Rearranges atoms and molecules. You can be sure it's deadly in the hands…oh dear God," she finishes flatly, and springs up a column of stone jutting from the ground.
There's a huge castle erupting from the base of the largest volcano to the east.
"The bloody hell?" Lestrange would have asked, if a pterandon hadn't swooped down and grabbed her.
Two more pterandons, mounted by lizard men, swooped down on the group.

Sara puts her goggles back on and starts running, grabbing anything she can off the ground and throwing up at the pteradons, hoping to maybe pierce through their wings.

The team's combined attack on the pteranodons served two purposes.
A) It quickly downs the two swooping dinos, but Lestrange is swept away towards the castle.
B) It leaves them open like rank amateurs, and a horde of Fish and Lizard people storm up the ridge, into, around, and through anyone on the ground.

I charge towards a group of the things. Not strong enough to fight them but I attempt to create a pit with my teleporting. That should put some down.

Marcus effortlessly catches up with Lestrange, who sees Marcus and sticks her hand through the dinosaur from her grip below.
She rips it's heart out and is still clenching it when she falls. She doesn't look terribly concerned.
The dinosaur veers off to skoosh somewhere and the rider bails.

The denizens of the Savage Land are now bearing down on Generation X. For every one swatted away, two more pop up from the rear ranks.
There's a trumpet call from the West (Castle's to the East), and several apatosauruses and allosauruses manned by animal people come chargine into the Gorge.

Polarity runs underneath one of the apatosaurs and grabs a rope dangling from its' carriage, he flips himself up onto the basket carrying the riders and kicks one in the face while elbowing another in his. He leaps from the basket as the apatosaur lowers its head to the ground. He jumps onto its' neck and repels his feet so he slides down the neck, jumping off the head and kneeing another mutate in the nose.

Wildfire and Nephy lead the charge to the nearest jungle to the North, which unfortunately doesn't lead to the large Keep in the volcano.
But it is a good tactical move to avoid a large mob.
The dinosaurs have got up with the rear flank of the Horde, but Generation X is barely outrunning them.
As they flee deeper into the jungle, more and more of the Horde turn back.
Meanwhile, Marcus catches Monica Lestrange. "Right-o, that's a bit of a rush. Where's your squad?"

There's an unearthly bellow, and they find themselves faced with a gigantic red tyrannosaurus.

Dan's flame is effective, but Dillan happens to teleport into it.
He stabs the T-Rex in the eye, before noticing his back is on fire.
The Rex bellows, and Nephy slicing into it with rocks doesn't help.
He's bleeding, and pissed. The Rex shakes it's head hard, slamming Dillan to the ground.
He rears up, and quick as a snake snaps his jaws at Polarity.
Behind them, Gen X can hear the brush rustling, along with cries of "Horde!" "Sauron!" and "Mmurbblbblgba!"

The t-rex is wounded, but it only fuels it's rage.
The Horde break into the clearing, 1/4 mile out. The yelp and growl and run towards Generation X.
"Marcus. The bridge is near. Lead them on! Fighting is no more use here!"
She wrests herself free of his grip and lands in the field between the horde and Gen X and runs to the group.

The rex is exhausted now, from the assault and Nephy's blood tricks.
It sways with a lumbering step, takes a huge snapping lunge towards Wild while shrugging off Marcus's blasts, and collapses.
Lestrange hasn't even broken a sweat, and she looks at the team. "Well that's great, you felled your only distraction. Run."

Marcus and Lestrange follow a vaguely worn path through the jungle, back towards the Searing Gorge.
Wildfire hangs behind, and her flash bang buys them considerable time, as the Horde is either blinded, or begins assaulting the weakened/wounded members.
They come to the large span of rock, four men wide, spanning the lava river. The Keep is just ahead.

A well toned and endowed blonde woman springs up from the cliff on the opposite side.

[When I'm doing a mission, I try to focus on that mission alone. Especially for Generation X - it's a challenge to make orders that don't look stupid and actually work, so I give it full attention.

Generation X finds themselves in the Savage Land, on the hunt for Sauron, who has gathered the Savage Land Beast-Men to his side, and destroyed the City of Sun People. Generation X follows the path of destruction to the Searing Gorge, only to be overrun by the Horde. A chance encounter with Devil Dinosaur only worsens the situation, when they are approached by Ka-Zar and Shanna the She-Devil, who lead Generation X to Sauron's Secret Lair (with Missile Firing Action, Trap Door, and Breakaway Wall).
Generation X is resting up, preparing to assault The Upper Blackrock Spire…

Ka-Zar and Shanna return from scouting. Lestrange is brooding by their concealed campfire as Ka-Zar and his cat Zabu make their report. "The way is clear, and once through the tunnels of Greyskull, you will be well inside the Spire. But I cannot lead you, as Sauron has somehow…reshaped the way things are. It may have to do with the Witch Woman."
Shanna nods. "We shall stay and divert the Horde's search parties. If you need to save the game at any time, speak with Zabu."

HP/MP Restored.
Shanna outstretches a hand, "For Blood and Thunder."
Lestrange stands up, and nods at Wildfire, then looks at the craggy tower stretching into the scorched clouds above. "Let's be on our way."

Generation X encounters no resistance as they cross the huge arch of rock spanning the lava river. High above, the cries of pterosaurs can be heard, but if the beast-men are guarding, they haven't noticed anything.
Eventually the reach the tunnel in the base of the mountain. Lestrange pulls a device from her utility belt, and implants it in the rock.
"Locater device, if something goes wrong, Wisdom and the rest will know where to start the search. Alternately, if we win, extraction point. I'll take point."
Lestrange bolts into the tunnel.

"No! I'll ssssstop you this time!" and Stegron hurls Wild into the tunnel. "You will die here, thisss I command!"

As he dashes towards Nephy, Marcus splashes his back with plasma. He howls in pain, and as he turns in anger, he catches Dillan with his tail.

Criminy. I howl in pain as I attempt to roll with the attack, but I'm still knocked around like a rag doll, it's not a pleasant thing.
Doing my best to scoop myself up, I pick up as large a rock as I can find and try and teleport above the creature so that I can grandslam him into next week.

Then Stegron punches him in the chest, denting his armor.
Dan's arrows find their mark in his soft belly, and he snaps his jaws at Wild, swinging his tail wildly.

Dillan's rock attack works, slamming onto Stegron's head.
Unfortunately, Stegron's jaws were in Wild's line of fire, and as the rock collides, he clamps down on Wild's forearm. Nothing life threatening, but it hurts like a bitch.
Marcus's plasma blade digs into the tail's scaly flesh, but fizzles out 1/4 of the way through.
Wild gets the shot off, right in Stegron's mouth, and he releases her arm. His eyes roll back, and he raises his fist against Wild for a final blow.

Marcus divebombs now beside Wild, firing the excess plasma he created before at Stregon. All of it.

Sara and Lestrange find themselves in a large network of tunnel, with windows overlooking a vast workshop. Below, Mutates and Beast-Men are hard at work at the volcano's fire; make-shift forges to craft weaponry.
"Vibranium. He's using the vibranium," Lestrange hisses, and then Sara's comm goes off.
"You go. I need more notes."

I can't help but let out a small cry as the teeth sink into my flesh; it could've been worse, he could've taken it off, but it still gives an extreme pain. I back away as my team piles onto Stegron.

Sir Nathaniels sword pierces Stegron's underbelly, and he drives his arm forward, until his gauntleted fist is inside Stegron, his sword tip poking out of the back.
Stegron thrashes, partly death throes, partly Marcus's assault of plasma, but he falls.
He doesn't die, though.
He reverts into a skinny, red-headed man.

He's bleeding pretty bad. I try to stop it all from leaking out, but I don't know how much it will help if Nate ruptured some organs.

I rub my right arm, wiping away the blood - even though I shoot with both hands, I am left-handed, so it's no major loss. I should be fine.
I look to them tending to Stegron. "Leave him be. If we have time, we'll have Black Air extract him afterwards. Focus on the mission." I look back to the tower as Sara returns…with Lestrange. Seems she has her own work to do fine. "Keep going. Same formation as last time." I head to the tower.

The man rolls over, tongue lolling, eye's cloudy. Most of the wounds he sustained as the dinosaur have healed, but he's still pretty beat up.
He's in no condition to talk, though. But he probably won't be getting up any time soon.

Inside the Spire, Lestrange points to a spiral staircase winding up the staircase. "If Ka-Zar's information is accurate, Lykos is at the top of the tower. I want him taken alive, and healthy, if possible. There are too many strange developments here, not the least of which is how he came across the Mandarin's ring."

Generation X clambers up the tower, and it's oddly quiet. Every floor they pass is unoccupied, until the they hear a woman sobbing. Lestrange makes a motion for someone to scout out the room.
From their vantage point, it looks like a prison - there are heavy stone doors with tiny windows, and manacles hanging from the wall.

Nathan's talk of betrayal worries me, but there's little I can about it now - I have no idea who, I have no idea when, and this isn't the time to investigate. I'll deal with the problem once it presents itself.

While they wait for the scouting report, Lestrange looks at Nephy and Dillan, and shrugs. "It's not Black Air's business to keep tabs on things like that, that's SHIELD's. When it goes amiss, then we take an interest. As for destroying it, good luck destroying Makluan technology. But yes, you'll be handing it over to me, to Black Air. n essence, we'll be keeping it, since you're Black Air's."

Dillan finds the room occupied by a slumbering fish person and lizard-man. There are four cells, three of them occupied.
There's a blonde woman, weary and slumped against the wall. She looks distant. The second holds a scruffy looking man, wearing only pants, and he's tossing a baseball against the wall, over and over.
The third occupied cell houses another man, wearing the tattered remnants of a SHIELD uniform. He's sleeping.
