"Well that is exactly what is wrong with this one. A group called C.O.R.E. decided they are Fate, and are slowly arranging things so that this will be the real reality that it represents. You guys haven't done anything suspiscious since I left?" He looks around taking as much into account as possible.

"I suspose it won't matter in the long run. Now everybody get close. No dodling." Flash of white light, and serene music plays.

Generation X finds them self aboard a ship of semmingly alien design. "Welcome to Omni Headquarters. I'd give you the tour, but we're pressed for time." He grabs something real quick, and then presses a button on his watch again.

Flash of light, and they find themselves in Japan 1854. "Alright here we are, this is where we pick up our end of the dominoes. There is a man called Tojo hiding in Tokyo. In about an hour he will activate something that shouldn't be discovered for about 200 years. Historically speaking."

If having to be in charge wasn't bad enough, since this isn't something I can or want to do, the fact that we're caught up in a Time War is even worse? Do you even comprehend that Lisa? Tell me, do you? Have you ever seen history rewritten at the hands of a madman, everything you've ever known and loved perverted and your friends transformed along with it? Have you ever seen a world so shitacular that it's inhabitants were all too prepared to destroy it because they truly believed they one we lived in was better?"

Meanwhile in the future…..

House Kurita has taken over the Innersphere. The year is 3060.

"I told you my brother. We insure victory this way. Look at our empire. The mightest warriors ever gathered, and they will proclaim you Emperor before this is over. Doesn't that mean anything to you?"

"There is no honor in this. Fighting wars we control the outcomes of is a kin to the way British hunt Fox."

"Then you leave me no choice." He slips a blade from his belt, and kills him."Long live Kurita, long live the Dragon."

Back in Tokyo 1854
Our heroes….Generation X have arrived at the Bathhouse. The place seems crowded, and people are staring at them. Some run off scared.

"Mean is a group of despots ruling the world, if anything, I'm just being what you guys need right now." I bark as we approach the bath house.

"Roxy, either do as I asked you or I'll have to port in there and do a whole bunch of stupid things myself. Stealth isn't going to help us now. They've got to know we're here, what with their temporal machinations. We need to draw them out."

"Tearing it in half was an unfortunate overstatement, a small quake will be fine." I try and soften my tone as I speak to Roxy.

None at all, at least, not in this time-line. Stupid future time-line. I was so bored half the times I had nothing better to do than read up on villain files, and Kang's seemed pretty wordy and I had time.

"…look, the thing with Kang is that he's unpredictable. There are Kang's from every time-line and they all have a habit of mucking with things. This citadel most likely belongs to the same Kang that has been a bother to the Avengers and Fantastic Four (before they became a five-some that is.)"

Dirt shoots up out of the ground. The visions of splendor of times past begin crumbling around them save the Citidel.

A lone figure stands above the tower. No one can see it, but he is smiling.

A silent voice echoes around them;Death has laid claim to the universe, the door is closed. Save you.

Ground begins to quake. Whatever is happening, is happening fast.

Re: Generation X #10 - Many Times, Many Ways

Marcus looked at the shadow figure.

"I suppose that's Kang, isn't it?"

He had his own trump card hidden away. A couple of hours of gathering particles around him. He had enough inside his cloak to make one good volley of particle beams, or generate a decent amount of plasma. But he supposed it might not work well agianst a person like Kang. Still better than nothing.

Worse, a voice booms seemingly from no where. I am the Angel of Time. Time is ending. You missed your chance. Now you die with me. The calm is errie after the voice passes. It's like all time has stopped. The air has become stale.

Citidel begins to shake with a massive fury. The Angel lowers itself to the ground.

Curious, How many chances do you get to be outside of time? he says to Dillon. His lips never move. There is a sickle at his waist. He is adorned in a white cloth drapped around him, and tied with a rope belt.

In the Citidel….

Marcus sees the Sphinx, the whirlling noise appears to come from there.

Well that's what we're looking for. If it's the sphinx that's causing it then stopping this may be easier then I thought.

Of course he realized that he had no idea on how to use the time sphinx or what kind of effect it may have on him if he gets close, but since the only guy who knows about this is gone….

He walks towards the time sphinx cautiously, spying for things like buttons, or anything revealing.

"DILLION! GET BACK HERE!"

I'm yelling at the spot where he teleported away. Darnit, why can't he just listen to what we said.

"Dillon, come back!" I run after the spot where he teleported, crying the whole way. (even though my lame player has no idea why. ;_;)

I hold Roxaine back with a blood hand, though neither of us are in the Sphinx.

Ok everyone but Dillon is teleported into the Sphinx when it finally disembarks, and this timeline folds in on itself.

Phineas guides the thing to the proper timeline easily enough, and teleports the team to the Lighthouse. "Like to stay, and chat, but I haft to get back to work." In a flash he is gone.

[Yeah not that satisfying, but it's an end, and Sara needs medical attention, and meanwhile….Doodles.]

The Future:

An brigade of 50 heli-carriers moved south. It was 12 O'clock, General Yorkes wasn't happy. Twenty minutes ago there was a giant explosion in New York, some said that it overtaken the entire city. Thousands of people, hundred of heroes were in there.

She wondered if anybody survived.

“This isn't good isn't it Ma'am.”
“Understatement of the century soldier.”
“Do you really think…?”
“Don't make conclusions before you see the evidence. All we know for certain is that there was an explosion.”
“How long till we get there?”
“An hour.”

As they drew closer they could see a pillar of smoke in the air. The entire city was burning.

Oh god, Hisako, Camilla…

She couldn't break down, many of her friends were dead, half of her team was dead. But she couldn't break down, not now, not when she was leading the remaining heroes into what could be war.

“General Yorkes, we have a visual of the city. Oh god they're…”
“Put it on the screen.”

The main screen showed a close up on the burning city. Massive silhouettes stood in the center of the carnage, behemoths, General Yorkes recognized them. Her eyes widened as a pang of fear coursed through her body.

They're back….

At that point she knew that they were doomed.
