«Well let's start now…»

Recap: The Generation X were called to the compound one day by Kitty Pryde and Mystique. Once inside they were given a brief for their new mission. The Leader once made a secret compound where he worked on his technology, he called it the Island of Death. After the Avengers defeated him the location was lost, now years later the Island of Death resurfaced with all sorts of unclaimed technology. It is Gen M's job to fly there and salvage what they can from the Island to take by to Genosha.

Currently they're flying there with Kitty Pryde on the Invisible plane…

"Alright we're almost there guys and gals. Hope you didn't get bored back there."

Kitty sounded cheerful, which was explainable, after all she is going to salvage technology. If the Generation X look outside their windows they might be able to see the Island from a distance. Kitty was on the pilot seat flying the invisible plane, sky's a bit cloudy.

Couple things about the general shape of the Island. The outside areas are mostly beach, although there's a cliff here and there. Most of the Island is pretty much a Jungle with various trails laid about. From outside the window you can see something large and metal near the center of the Island, that's the lab where the Leader made his weapons.

Khan pulls out a rubber band, and loosens a near by screw. A loud pop sounds behind Doms head rest as the screw hits his target. Another good reason to sit in back, a nice big firing arc. He quickly hid the rubberband.

Missles that can detect an invisible ship built with technology decades better then it? That's it, if we ever meet the Leader, I'm putting something pointy in his head, rock, paperclip, scissors, I'm not picky.

"Not from the Island, they came from behind us. Something, I don't know what, fired at us."

Kelly detects one made of photoelectric energy, she blows it up, but the other one is already closing on the ship fast. The plane does another turn, before the entire plane is rocked by an explosion.

Re: Generation M #11: Trapped on the Island of Dea
Post by star on Jan 25, 2008, 10:18pm

"Better idea. Targetting is dicey." Kelly wraps a field around the ship, but it's not liable to hold against a missile. At the least, however, it might buffer it a little. Hopefully.

Might be a good idea if the plane wasn't already hit.

The cabin has seen better days, the light are off, debris scattered on the plane, there are some holes. But all that sucking out of a plane thing is a bit of a myth. Everyone seems to be miraculously fine.

"We're hit, status report? Is everyone ok?"

Well until the island's actual security systems starts off. From below lasers start firing in the air, Kelly gets hit.

Kelly drops out of the air with a little scream, hitting the ground hard. The platform dissipates; luckily, it was only about four feet above the ground. She shakes the dizziness and the pain off for a moment - not entirely - to hop back into the air and try to crush the defense turrets with another platform.

"That was just rude!"

They crash-landed on the Island, survivors probably. For the best, after all I need to see their faces before I kill them. Let them see what they did to me. Their looks of fear as I hunt them down…

Looks like they hit the motherlode.

"Already doing it."

On the screen something is flying in the distance. At first it's a spec, and then it grows larger, until it's features are recognizable.

It looks like Ultron, but it's different. In fact what it looks like more is the body that Hank Pym made for Current a long while back. It's heads closer with alarming speed, until it's head takes up the whole screen.

Behind them the wall explodes, the Pym-Bot looks at them.

"TARGETS IDENTIFIED, TERMINATE."

The Robot is getting pummeled at all sides. However it ignores the rocks, while grabbing the arm of the Stay-Puff. He fires a blast through it's arm, destroying it, before aiming another blast at Kelly and firing.

The Robot starts getting annoyed if it can get annoyed and fired another blast at Khan's position.

Re: Generation M #11: Trapped on the Island of Dea
Post by hellfireknight on Jan 25, 2008, 11:57pm

Khan pops open a ration, and pokes a hole in the water ration. The moves forward looking for an opening in the bot, or a decent place to try for one with his sword.

Re: Generation M #11: Trapped on the Island of Dea
Post by deathchicken on Jan 25, 2008, 11:57pm

Having gotten himself killed twice in about ten seconds, Wreck finds himself miffed. Pulling himself out of the wall, he throws a field around himself and tries to run straight through the leg of the robot.

Re: Generation M #11: Trapped on the Island of Dea
Post by doodleboy on Jan 25, 2008, 11:59pm

Wreck charges through the leg, which is surprisingly durable. He melts part of the outer shielding while tripping the robot over, leaving an opening in it's leg.

Re: Generation M #11: Trapped on the Island of Dea
Post by star on Jan 25, 2008, 11:59pm

Kelly gets back up… barely. She grabs the electromotive generator and sets it off.

Re: Generation M #11: Trapped on the Island of Dea
Post by deathchicken on Jan 26, 2008, 12:01am

Re: Generation M #11: Trapped on the Island of Dea
Post by doodleboy on Jan 26, 2008, 12:03am

The gun messes with it's leg as it tries to crawl to grab Wreck, before Kelly's generator makes it start to short-circuit.

Post by deathchicken on Jan 26, 2008, 12:06am

"Lights out."

A teleport straight up (which Wreck is getting very tired of doing, since it hurts like hell). As he falls, he puts an entropy field around his feet and tries to kick through the damn thing's head.

Post by star on Jan 26, 2008, 12:06am

"Oh… good… it worked." Kelly puts the emf generator down, sitting down and leaning against the wall for support. "That was… tougher than I thought… it would be." What's now a rag of a cape falls over her head when she sits down, and she pulls it off; a little crackle comes from underneath her dress/costume, making her glance down to see that her photoelectrical regulator harness has broken.

Oh… that- that's not good….

Khan gets up after taking a hard hit the right side of his chest. The water pack is somewhere behind him spilling it's guts. He picks his sword with his right hand, his left clutching his right sides bleeding wound, and proceds to try to beat what ever is left of the robot.

Those god damn bastards also added pain receptors!!!

One of the humanoids that Khan activates punches Wreck. Khan can aim the Death Ray too.

Wreck sighs. Then tries to get in the way of the blast for the 12 millionth time today. Then gets punched. Then punches the humanoid back, before resuming what he was doing.

Khan uses the distraction to finally line up the death ray, but passes out before he can take the shot.

"Unff—" Kelly gets sent through a wall. Again. The poor walls in this place never did anything to anyone. "That really hurt! Not 'I need medical attention' hurt, but geez!" Saying that, when she realises that she can't get back up, she also realises that she probably does need medical attention.

Get up, Kelly. Get back up.

She tells her body to stand again, and it refuses. But while her body isn't up to it, her will is as strong as ever. She can't stand. Defiantly, she hovers instead. Kelly grips her wrist with her other hand, supporting it while she fires everything she has left at the robot.

It's barely enough for a flash.

That's everything, all the fight in you. Heh, then you'll be the first.

He blasts through more of the Humanoids, knocking Wreck to the side, before grabbing Kelly and lifting her.

You killed me! You and your friends! You turned me into this! Ruined my life, and you'll pay!

Re: Generation M #11: Trapped on the Island of Dea
Post by deathchicken on Jan 26, 2008, 12:26am

Wreck does a tumble, skids across the floor and to a halt. Pulls himself up groggily.

"Okay, I'll just grab the death laser, and…."

And sighs.

"….and you've got a hostage. Fine."

He charges back in instead, intending to scramble up the leader, cover a hand in entropy and plunge it through the back of his skull. Enough of this.

"I have no idea who you are. But my friends aren't killers." Kelly swings at its head and ends up just breaking most of the bones in her hand. Clutching the hand in pain, she quickly realises that she's used up pretty much all of her energy, except for what's keeping her alive.

Re: Generation M #11: Trapped on the Island of Dea
Post by doodleboy on Jan 26, 2008, 12:32am

The entropy hand doesn't kill the robot but it hurts it, it tosses Kelly to the side focusing on Wreck.

Various memories are moving through the heads of all the New Mutants.

Fire, burning then blackness.

And waking up to see two scientists.

"Hello my friend, my name is Orville and my partner here is Wilbur. You're very lucky to be alive Donald Pierce, it was thanks to the Super-Adaptoid really. Shielded you from the brunt of the explosion. Such a shame there wasn't enough of it left afterwords to savage though…"
"Indeed the shame."

Donald spoke weakly.

"Where… am I…"

"Oh, you're in the Foundation headquarters, we rebuilt you salvaged you."
"Re-built?"
"Yes, perhaps you should see a mirror."

They showed him a mirror.

Donald Pierce screamed.

He walks towards Wreck.

Really shouldn't have done that…

Wreck calmly extends two middle fingers.

"Eat me."

Then makes for the death ray, only vaguely thinking of how he doesn't have a real idea of how it works.

Kelly's head smashes into the bottom of the computer. She takes a moment to hover up again groggily, but that's about as much of her power as she can access right now. Still, she charges the robot from behind and punches it as hard as she can in the back, just breaking more bones for her trouble.

"Get… get away from him!"

«New Mutants? You okay, doodles?»

Khan is barely hanging around an arm reluctantly goes up to move the controls of the death ray around for another shot.

Re: Generation M #11: Trapped on the Island of Dea
Post by doodleboy on Jan 26, 2008, 12:37am

The robot turns towards Kelly this time. Amused.

Trying to save your friend?

He grabs her head and smashes it to the ground.

Charming, you do realize that means he gets to suffer more from seeing you die first?

The controls are pretty easy, to sticks to toggle and what seems like a red button that says fire.

I don't know any of those people… I should have just stayed in bed… Nadia drones inwardly as the images flash through her head.

She makes for Big Ugly, going metal as she does. It's a slower process than it ought to be. On arrival, she tackles the big robot at the knees.

"Yeah, you'd think she would have figured that part out, wouldn't you? Oh well. More denial fun for Wrecky."

Aim for the head. Fire.

He slams the fire button down trying to hold on to conciousness. His vision is blury.

Kelly struggles slightly against Pierce's grip, but all of the fight drains out of her when her head smashes into the floor. This time, Kelly doesn't get up again.

Re: Generation M #11: Trapped on the Island of Dea
Post by doodleboy on Jan 26, 2008, 12:40am

He smashes Kelly down again on the already dented floor. There's blood on the side of Kelly. At the same time the Donald Pierce gets tackled by Nadia as he knocks her away.

Then the Death Ray fires. The Donald Pierce screams… and drops Kelly.

Wreck more or less crawls over to Kelly. Everything seems to be moving very slowly. One of those dreams where you're trying to go faster than your brain will allow.

"That wasn't bright at all, love."

Big Ugly appearing to have been dealt with thanks to the death ray, Nadia heads to Kelly's side to check upon her.

"Kelly?" she prods. "You okay?" Be okay.

Khan tightens his gui around the wound that had him bleeding all over the place. Not really good enough, but it's a start. He picks what he hopes is Pryde out of the crowd,"You…find…looking…foot?"

Re: Generation M #11: Trapped on the Island of Dea
Post by doodleboy on Jan 26, 2008, 12:48am

Donald Pierce, was still alive, but he's been shot, his body malfunctioning. He's practically crawling.

Can't… Can't let it end… Planned my revenge… for so long…

Meanwhile back at the Foundation, two scientists tisked and tutted, looking through Donald's eyes.

"Such a shame, such a darn shame isn't it Orville?"
"Quite indeed Wilbur, seems like our precious Cybiote first test run was a failure."
"And we were going to go to that Island to salvage technology."
"Well… a failed experiment is a failed experiment and we shouldn't cry over spilt milk. All that's left…"

Orville pressed a red button.

"Is to clean up."
"Besides, The Leader was a second rate mad-scientist."

Back in the compound a sound is coming from Donald's body.

"30… 29… 28…"

Khan manages to fine Pryde, hurt, but alright in total. She wakes up.

"Got hit and… What's that sound?"

Wreck absently points. A huge field envelops Pierce, as worms crawl behind his eyes. He'd dissolve Pierce in one swoop. Nothing left to blow up.

[It just occurred to me that Kitty's at the perfect person to run a mission like this, and at the same time, the last one you'd want doing it; seeing as she could just screw up the robots by phasing through them :P.]

Pierce is dissolving which is just as bad, he screams in pain.

Pierce is gone…

Wreck leans over and gives Kelly a kiss. Though it already felt a little blank. His brain had turned off the part that was hurting.

Although he'd never know it, a guy on the other side of the galaxy could have told him that he knew exactly how he felt.

An hour later another ship arrives as the Gen M makes it back to the beach. They head home.
