Text to come…

It looks like any other zoo. Although the strange thing is that it's closed. In the middle of a weekday. The gates are chained up surprisingly heavily, for a Zoo. Though you can certainly hear sounds coming from inside the place…

"Well that's strange…"

A blade of blood chops at the chains, it'll take a few seconds, but I should be able to get past the gates. How suspicous this place already is might be a good sign… Well, that I'm in the right place anyway. I could still be walking into a stampede or something.

"Locked."

"Your powers of observation astound me."

The 'twins' walk up to the chained gate, look at each other for a second, then both switch over into air for all of a few seconds as they push through the gate and reform. They take a look around to see if the makers of the aformentioned sounds are in view.

"… I wish I could turn into air…"

Our hemoglobic heroine manages to fairly easily break the chains. The zoo's gates creakily swing open, and the entire zoo stands before her like a rotting wound.

It's pretty big. The information desk to their left, the candy shop (closed) to their right, and the path goes straight down the middle of the area. It's a massive place, and the girls can't help thinking they may get lost without a guide.

« I figured. »

"Hmm, maybe we should get a map.

Not that we even know what we're looking for, really."

I check for the lock on the information desk. They must keep it stocked at night too.

Lo and behold, Nephy is able to find a map of the joint. It's a big place, though all paths tend to lead to the center. Which conveniently, Nadia can see from her altitude, is where there is a large generator.

It wouldn't look suspicious, were it not in the direct center.

"We should probably start at the middle. I mean, if nothing else, we can fan out from there if it doesn't pan out." a Nadia says, starting in that direction.

Re: Gen M 14: Genoshan Zoo
Post by sam on Feb 21, 2008, 9:39pm

"Okay."

I find the road leading to the middle and start down it. Personly I won't fly, so it'll proboly take me longer then Nadia.

From where she is, Nadia can see a green haired man about Fitzroy's size hunched over a large, beeping machine. He seems to be working feverishly on it, while taking frequent glances at a gauntlet on his arm, with many flashing lights.

Re: Gen M 14: Genoshan Zoo
Post by osmosis on Feb 21, 2008, 9:49pm

"…"

'Eyes' narrowing, saying nothing Nadia swoops down just about as fast as she can, solidifying when she hits the ground and transforming into whatever the ground is made of. She then moves to pull the Fitzroy sized green haired man away from the machine by the shoulder, raising a threatening fist.

"Is it live yet? Activated?"

Re: Gen M 14: Genoshan Zoo

This version of Fitzroy looks pretty similar to the Fitzroy they just travelled with, but for a few differences:

-He's got a mechanical eye.
-A large scar on his throat

And most importantly, his eyes are completely glassed over. As if he's sleeping with his eyes open. All he says is "For the glory of Apocalypse!" Before touching a button on his belt, sending electricity coursing through himself and Nadia.

Nadia is fortunately stone, so it doesn't do much to her but tingle.

"What's going on?"

I rush the last few meters to where Nadia and Fitz are. Seems like I missed something.

Re: Gen M 14: Genoshan Zoo
Post by osmosis on Feb 21, 2008, 10:01pm

Nadia pulls Fitzroy's hand away from his belt, trying to stop him from killing himself (which might bother her less if he wasn't potentially more useful alive. Potentially.)

"Oh God, please tell me that that was a 'I'm a zealous moron' scream, not a 'I have been brainwashed' scream." Nadia says as she looks at what she assumes is the bomb.

Re: Gen M 14: Genoshan Zoo
Post by noodles on Feb 21, 2008, 10:03pm

"For the glory… Of…"

Fitzroy passes out.

Nadia does, indeed, see the bomb. It's currently set for 45 minutes, and counting down.

Re: Gen M 14: Genoshan Zoo
Post by sam on Feb 21, 2008, 10:05pm

"Sounded like a 'zealous moron' scream to me."

I jog over to where one of the Nadia's aprehended him.

"So… What now? Any idea how to disarm it?"

Re: Gen M 14: Genoshan Zoo
Post by osmosis on Feb 21, 2008, 10:11pm

"I don't know, I'm not from the bomb squad. I had been hoping I could make him do it but…" Both look down at him and the other says, "Well, he doesn't look like he's going to be of too much use."

Stone Nadia is looking kind of anxious. The other pulls at a panel, looking inside. "Computer chips, circuit board, something, please…" she mutters to herself.

Re: Gen M 14: Genoshan Zoo
Post by noodles on Feb 21, 2008, 10:12pm

Nadia does, indeed, see computer chips and a circuit board. Plus a horrifying mass of different colored wires.

Re: Gen M 14: Genoshan Zoo
Post by sam on Feb 21, 2008, 10:18pm

"Lemme look at it."

As much curious as actualy thinking I might know what to do, I shove non-stone Nadia a bit to get a better view of the opened panel.

Re: Gen M 14: Genoshan Zoo
Post by osmosis on Feb 21, 2008, 10:18pm

"Alright. Alright. This can work. God loves all his children right? It's not crazy to believe that he might throw a little of that love my way…"

Nadia reaches in to make contact with the circuit board, starting to absorb the tech and remake herself into something technological. Which could look cool or weird, but most importantly she's hoping that the transformation will allow her to understand the bomb more. Hopefully, how to shut the thing off.

Re: Gen M 14: Genoshan Zoo
Post by noodles on Feb 21, 2008, 10:24pm

The only thing of particular note in the bomb is the nuclear material, which Nadia now has more of an understanding of. Aside from that, it's just as confusing as you'd imagine a nuke to be.

Re: Gen M 14: Genoshan Zoo
Post by sam on Feb 21, 2008, 10:25pm

"Huh…

I got nothing."

I really need to read up on bombs. I did computers after the whole demon thing, but not bombs.

They should really teach this stuff in class.

"Well, we have 45 minitues. That's plenty of time."

Re: Gen M 14: Genoshan Zoo
Post by osmosis on Feb 21, 2008, 10:34pm

"… crud." Nadia, who could probably tell you all sorts of details about what is fortyish minutes away from blowing up in their faces but little about how to make it not do that, looks dejected. "Well that didn't work too well. I don't think…"

She starts shifting through the newfound knowledge, for anything even remotely useful to the current situation.

Re: Gen M 14: Genoshan Zoo
Post by noodles on Feb 21, 2008, 10:38pm

Nadia senses that there is a common ingredient in the bomb, and in the gauntlet on Fitzroy's arm.

Re: Gen M 14: Genoshan Zoo
Post by osmosis on Feb 21, 2008, 10:42pm

Nadia quickly scrambles over to check out Fitzroy's gauntlet.

Re: Gen M 14: Genoshan Zoo
Post by noodles on Feb 21, 2008, 10:43pm

She sees a big red button, marked "OFF"

Re: Gen M 14: Genoshan Zoo
Post by osmosis on Feb 21, 2008, 10:44pm

Nadia pushes the big red button.

Re: Gen M 14: Genoshan Zoo
Post by noodles on Feb 21, 2008, 10:45pm

The bomb deactivates.

Re: Gen M 14: Genoshan Zoo
Post by sam on Feb 21, 2008, 10:45pm

"Wish there was an easy way to do this…."

I keep looking at the bomb, looking for a way to take it apart that wont blow us up.

Re: Gen M 14: Genoshan Zoo
Post by osmosis on Feb 21, 2008, 10:46pm

"Hey, Neph." she holds up Fitzroy's arm. "There was an off button."

Re: Gen M 14: Genoshan Zoo

"Ah…"

I smile, a bit embarassed.

"Thanks Nadia."

There's a bright beam of light, as the elder Fitzroy is beamed back to the younger Fitzroy's ship.
