While Genosha doesn't have what many would call a literal "Mountain range," it does have some impressively tall rock structures. They aren't anything a decent hiker would balk at, for lack of a better range.

Now… Where to start looking?

Re: Gen M 14: Genoshan Mountains
Post by cheshire on Feb 21, 2008, 9:23pm

Joe starts looking around frantically. "I can't see anything, can you?"

Khan takes to the rock like a mermaid to water. Lets see where would I hide it? Some nice caves, and crevices up here…

Joe's voice echoes around, but aside from that he gets little answer. He's almost about to think he chose the wrong place, when he hears what sounds like a mechanical clattering…

Khan sees sparks flying from about a half mile away. The same place Joe hears the clattering.

Re: Gen M 14: Genoshan Mountains

Khan makes his way to the sparking place trying to keep stealth on his side.

Re: Gen M 14: Genoshan Mountains
Post by cheshire on Feb 21, 2008, 9:30pm

Joe emphatically does NOT have stealth on his side, as he goes crashing toward the clattering like a bull in a china shop.

The two of them see something both incredible and awe inspiring.

Colossus is currently in the middle of an epic battle with this monstrosity:

And as the white and red robot holds him up in the air, it is pretty clear our Mister Rasputin is not on the winning side of this fight.

Re: Gen M 14: Genoshan Mountains
Post by cheshire on Feb 21, 2008, 9:36pm

Joe flings a quick blast at the robot. He's good with robots.

Nimrod? Don't any of these villians take it easy? At least Joeseph should be on it, meanwhile I should sneak around, and see if I can find something more helpful then a distraction. He moves as best he can around the fight trying not to draw attention.

Re: Gen M 14: Genoshan Mountains
Post by noodles on Feb 21, 2008, 9:37pm

Haha yeah, no.

The blast bounces off the robot's armor. Its eyes (Or bright lights where eyes should be) lock onto Joe, and glisten. "Target has brought reinforcements. Commencing capture procedure."

"Get away from him!!!" Colossus shouts, not in a great place to be giving orders.

Khan's little ruse works, Nimrod doesn't see him.

Re: Gen M 14: Genoshan Mountains
Post by cheshire on Feb 21, 2008, 9:39pm

"Well, that ain't no good…"

Least it didn't see Khan…

"There ain't no place to go to, now it's already seen me!" Joe yells back to Colossus. Joe hesitates, trying to figure out what to do.

Re: Gen M 14: Genoshan Mountains
Post by hellfireknight on Feb 21, 2008, 9:40pm

He moves to try to find the bomb, or something that can help with Nimrod. Maybe Fitzroy has a remote control…

Re: Gen M 14: Genoshan Mountains
Post by noodles on Feb 21, 2008, 9:44pm

"Commencing attack procedures, now." Holding Colossus over his head with one arm, Nimrod begins walking toward Joe. It aims one palm at him, and fires off a blast.

Khan can't see any remote control, but he can hear a beeping noise from the general vicinity of where he first spotted the two titans doing battle. When he follows the trail, he'll see a nuclear device. Armed. And counting down from 45 minutes.

Re: Gen M 14: Genoshan Mountains
Post by hellfireknight on Feb 21, 2008, 9:46pm

He puts his hand on the device, and searches for something he can use; past, present, or future.

Re: Gen M 14: Genoshan Mountains
Post by cheshire on Feb 21, 2008, 9:46pm

Joe dives to the side and tries to find a nice heavy rock to hurl at the robot.

Re: Gen M 14: Genoshan Mountains
Post by noodles on Feb 21, 2008, 9:49pm

*Dink!* Is the sound the rock makes, as it bounces off Nimrod. "Target has shown aggression, increasing destructive power." Nimrod fires another blast, which sends Joe soaring a few feet into a wall. Colossus manages to break free of the machine while he blasts Joe, but he can't do too much else.

Nate… Doesn't really see anything he'd recognize.

Re: Gen M 14: Genoshan Mountains
Post by cheshire on Feb 21, 2008, 9:50pm

Joe bounces off the wall and staggers around, punch-drunk. He tries to hit Nimrod with a slightly more powerful blast than before.

Re: Gen M 14: Genoshan Mountains
Post by hellfireknight on Feb 21, 2008, 9:52pm

Great these things are designed with half a dozen fail safes to prevent tampering. I'd throw it at Nimrod if I didn't think he'd survive it. Clocks ticking. Dead if you do, Dead if you don't. He tries to pry a panel off to get at the wires.

Re: Gen M 14: Genoshan Mountains
Post by noodles on Feb 21, 2008, 9:56pm

Khan is able to get a panel off, and there's a freakish mess of wires under it. Hard to make heads or tails of it.

Colossus pushes on the back of Nimrod's leg as Joe's blast pushes his chest back, sending Nimrod falling to its back.

Re: Gen M 14: Genoshan Mountains
Post by cheshire on Feb 21, 2008, 9:59pm

"Mr. Colossus, try to find something heavy to smash it with, or something!"

Joe, gambling on Colossus being able to do something, blasts Nimrod with all the remaining energy he has stored.

Red 1 we're dead, Red 2 we're screwed, Red 3 make your bed, Green 1 looking mean, Big Green looking dean, Green 2 looking teen, brown you're down, yellow you're bellow, teal you peal… He closes his eyes, and rips something out at random.

Re: Gen M 14: Genoshan Mountains
Post by noodles on Feb 21, 2008, 10:02pm

The timer on the bomb goes from 45 minutes to 1, and continues counting down.

Joe is able to blow Nimrod's head off with his remaining strength. Unfortunately, the head seems to start reforming. Colossus meanwhile picks up the damaged Nimrod by the head, spins him around faster and faster, and throws him toward the ocean. Nimrod fades off into the distance, and we don't even hear the blast.

Re: Gen M 14: Genoshan Mountains
Post by cheshire on Feb 21, 2008, 10:04pm

"That worked better than smashing it, I think. I wonder how Khan's doin'? We weren't fightin' very long, we should still have plenty of time to get that bomb taken care of."

Re: Gen M 14: Genoshan Mountains
Post by hellfireknight on Feb 21, 2008, 10:05pm

Khan reaches for the wires connected to the timer, and tries to rip as many of them out as hard, and fast as he can.

Re: Gen M 14: Genoshan Mountains
Post by noodles on Feb 21, 2008, 10:07pm

Colossus picks up the bomb, before Nate is able to rip the remaining wires out of it, blowing them all to kingdom come.

"Any… OTHER ideas?"

Re: Gen M 14: Genoshan Mountains
Post by cheshire on Feb 21, 2008, 10:08pm

"Maybe throw it really really far away?" Joe's voice comes out reedy and much more high pitched than his usual sound.

"With less then a minute to spare? OLSEN! You got anything left? Hit Rasputin with it now."

Catapult seems simple enough, and Peter has a high chance of survival.

Re: Gen M 14: Genoshan Mountains

"Nuh-uh, used it all on the robot."

Re: Gen M 14: Genoshan Mountains
Post by noodles on Feb 21, 2008, 10:13pm

"Yes. That is something."

Colossus winds up a pitch, and gets ready to throw. Joe can tell that he's really, really pissed off.

Re: Gen M 14: Genoshan Mountains
Post by cheshire on Feb 21, 2008, 10:14pm

"…did I do somethin' wrong?"

Re: Gen M 14: Genoshan Mountains
Post by hellfireknight on Feb 21, 2008, 10:14pm

"Guess you could always spin toss out there. Theres no trees nearby, and disarming it didn't work out. Of course if you can eat it, that might work out well."

Re: Gen M 14: Genoshan Mountains
Post by noodles on Feb 21, 2008, 10:18pm

Colossus makes the pitch. It goes screaming off into the distance. You count around fifteen seconds from the time he scoops you up and brings you deep into one of the caves, to the time you see a bright light, which quickly recedes.

You're not dead, near as you can tell.

"…I'm sorry I made you mad, Mr. Colossus."

"I think we should find a shower. Tin Man is the only one who thought to bring a radiation suit."

Re: Gen M 14: Genoshan Mountains

"Da. You are good boys. Good boys."

Colossus summons one of the main jets, and has it come into the cave where it picks them up and takes them back home.
